I love this light, I wish I could give it more than 5 stars because it it the best thing I've purchased in months. I installed it in the top of my shop/shed and it is super bright. It's 16 feet up and it light up the entire shop as if it were daylight in there. I especially appreciated the heavy duty metal construction. Based on the fins on the back I suspect this serves a dual purpose, first it serves as a heat sync, anyone who had worked with LED light before knows that the biggest problem is typically heat dissipation. Second, it make the light super durable, I didn't try dropping it but I think it would survive a fall from heights just fine. It comes with a plug so you can plug it into an existing outlet. As I had not wired up that portion of my shed yet I just ran romex to a switch by the door and then ran it up and put an outlet behind it. If you didn't want to wire something up like mine the cord is a few feet long but you could run an extension cord up to wherever you need. Finally at the current price of $40 this is a steal, I would expect to pay double that for a light this bright with metal construction. I love this light and would recommend it to anyone. I have tested quite a few of these lights, and often the case is that the wattage is exaggerated. Not this one though. A small minority of lights actually check out and this is one of them. My measurements test at 152 watts, up to 157 depending on temperature. Another thing that sets this bay light apart from others is the lensing. If you look at the lens, this has the thousands of tiny bumps type of lens which produces a much more diffuse light than others with larger clear lenses. The price for one is not fantastic, but if you're buying lights for a shop or building, you're going to be buying them in bulk, and the price for 10 is very reasonable. Check out your options. It's essentially, buy 7, get 3 free. They are easy to install with a simple hook, adding more safety features over similar lights, with a lock screw on the hook thread as well as the set nut, and also the hook itself, and including a safety cable. So there are four safeties, whereas most lights only have one or two. It's a solid aluminum casting, so I'd expect the durablity to be good, but the key factor in LED lights is how hard they're driven. So longevity is always the question. Read more
