I can fully recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality and elegant product. It’s a pleasure to look at. Holding it in hand feels very comfortable and satisfying — the large, long barrel fits my hand perfectly. Before I bought it, I thought from the photos online that it might be less beautiful and less convenient. But in reality, it far exceeded my expectations. And it writes superbly! However, I replaced the F nib in my DIA2 with a TWIN BOCK nib (you can find this among other Kaweco products). The Twin nib fits the DIA2 perfectly — just make sure to choose the version marked as compatible with DIA2 — and it writes beautifully. You can confidently go for this pen! Read more

For the price IMO this is as good a fountain pen as there is in the world; w/broad nib. Fabulous. Read more

I own well over 90 fountain pens, some of them costing more than $400. Although I prefer gold nibs, I have some with titanium, and others with stainless steel. The Kaweco is in the last class: a gold-colored stainless steel nib. Why I like this pen: It is made in the classic style of a vintage pen. It is of sturdy material, understated elegance, & is well-balanced. I like the reeding at the top of the cap & upper end of the barrel, as well as the Kaweco logo medallions on the finial and barrel end. The nib writes smoothly but has no flex, or very little; for the price I didn't expect it to have any. Ink flow is ample. The clip is pretty, with the Kaweco logo, on it. It is the clip where I have my only quibble with the pen: It is extremely stiff, & is likely to damage shirt-pockets over time. Kaweco has interchangeable nibs on some models, & this is one of them. A gold 14k gold nib is available separately for this pen, approximate price is $125. Read more

No hard starts or ink flow issues- yet the Kaweco EF nib; it's a nail. At this price point , disappointed. Kaweco instructed me to return the pen to Amazon. Hassle free replacement DIA2 pen arrived -thanks Amazon. But, unfortunately no better than the first- tiresome, really scratchy, unpleasant to try to write with. Liked the pen itself -well made, substantial, handsome. So I decided to keep it and swapped the nib for the larger, wider #5 076 Fine Bock. Anything would look better than the puny EF Kaweco nib the pen shipped with. So 4 stars for the pen. The nib though... Read more

This pen is a nice pen if it writes, though the double broad nib had the worst hard-start/dry-out problem I've every come across. My $10 Chinese pens can sit for weeks and start up again with no issue. I contacted Kaweco, and they put me in touch with a repair guy in the States. He wanted me to pay to ship the pen to him after indicating that he didn't feel there was anything wrong with it. I feel they should've offered to send a replacement nib. I decided to return the pen instead of deal with a non-guaranteed solution and potential headaches down the road. For some reason, the return issued was over $15 less than what I paid for the thing. No explanation why. There was no clear return policy indicating shipping costs would be extracted or anything, and even if this were the case, $15 to ship a pen from NYC to New Jersey seems exorbitant. I'll not purchase from this seller again. Read more
