Not just a jump starter but can also be used as a power bank to charge USB or 12V electronics and has a very bright work light as well. You can charge this via the included AC adapter or USB-C, or both at the same time for maximum charging speed. I did test this with a 240-watt USB-C adapter from a laptop but it still only charged the jump starter at around 90 watts, so if you do want the super fast charging it claims you are going to need to use USB-C + the AC adapter. The area/work light is very bright, according to the screen its 5 watts on low and 10 watts on high. I would say its probably 1,000-1,500 lumens on high, more than enough light to see in the dark on the side of the road, even enough to light a small room. The screen will report the battery capacity (of the jump starter) and input/output wattage, I was able to run a small laptop for several hours off the USB-C output without issue. The claimed capacity is 89.6Wh and when using the USB-C port to power I measured a total of 79Wh, so the capacity is pretty close to the claim. This is a similar capacity that a power bank may have, it could recharge a cell phone many times. The screen will also report any error codes, mostly they relate to using the jump start feature. I like that the codes are printed on the body of the unit itself, so you don't have to keep track of the manual to see what an error may be. Finally the jump starting feature itself, the biggest plus here is this has an override/force start option which will allow you to attempt to start a completely dead vehicle or in theory, a vehicle that has no battery at all. This is a big plus because by default most of these chargers will not allow you to apply a current if it detects the battery voltage is too low. 8000A is a HUGE amount of current, this could easily be 20x more than what a car needs to start. I haven't needed to use this to start a car yet but I did test it with a starter tester and while I cannot even come close to verifying the 8000A claim, this did pass the 100A starter test with ease, and on my larger tester 450A without issue. At 450A the voltage only dropped to 10V from 13.4, pretty impressive. Final thing of note is that this unit has Lithium-Iron batteries versus Lithium-Ion like what your cell phone has. Lithium-Iron are generally far safer than lithium-ion for things like heat tolerance, overcharging/discharging and fire risk. Read more
Wow, this thing is very impressive. I had to do some reading up on LiFeMnPO4 cells really are. Because I am familar with LiFePO4 cells but didn't have any experience with these. LiFeMnPO4, or lithium iron manganese phosphate, is a type of lithium-ion battery chemistry known for its high safety, long lifespan, and good performance in a variety of applications. With that being said, and some other things I have read about these types of cells, they are very good cells and offer some excellent charge discharge curves for being able to use most of the available charge without hurting the cells themselves. The power pack jump starter has a lot of features. First off, the feature that sets this one apart from some of the other ones is the number of ways it can be charged up. You can charge it from the supplied power pack (power pack and cable provided), from a car 12 volt outlet (cable provided), from a solar panel (not provided), or from a high powered USB power pack (not provided), using the USB C input/output connection. When I first received this unit, It had about an 88 percent charge and I fully charged it using my high powered USB output pack, and a USB C cable. It charged it very quickly, and it shows the charging power when charging on the display. When using the device as an output device, there are two USB standard ports and one USB input/output port, and a 12 volt output plug port too. There is an included built in light that has 4 Modes lights (flashlight/SOS/strobe and it also has the ability to have bright 10 Watts or dim 5 Watts on the main light setting. When using the device as a power bank, it lets you know the total wattage being used at a snapshot in time, and gives you an estimate of time remaining on charge based on usage as well as showing a percentage of charge remaining. The other main feature with this unit is that it also provides the ability to start a car with a dead battery. They provide the cables for that too. I did not test that feature out, but based on having used similar ones in the past, I am sure that works well. And this one is actually much much higher in its output capabilities of being 8000 Amps, providing up to 100 car starts. The specs on the total power of this are 7Ah/12.8V battery which works out to 89.6 Watts. The other features certainly added considerable value to this unit. It comes in a very compact form with a nice built-in carry handle, along with a small case for the cables. This is perfect for camping, for emergency use, or for using it as a handy portable power supply. Read more
