I got this to help with my daily cycling commute to work. It’s a bit out of season at the moment to test this for winter use, but I’m at least able to report on the overall fit and usage. It fits well on my head and I’m able to put my bike helmet over top without any adjustments needed. The front mesh is very breathable; I’ll have to wait until winter to test to see if this affects the temperature of my face at all or too much. The length is good -- I checked that it will go low enough to be covered up by either my cycling jersey or the collar of my winter biking jacket. The sunglasses holes on the side are nice so the sunglasses arms have somewhere to rest, but I will note that I don’t think you can use sunglasses and cover your nose at the same time. If you cover your nose with the front mesh, it fogs up your riding glasses, so you need to pull it down under your nose. I always ride with glasses so I can imagine myself using this in cold weather with glasses and not covering my nose; or else using it for running in cold weather without glasses and covering my nose completely to keep warm. By far, this is one of the most well thought out balaclavas I have worn. The stitching is superb and no cheapness anywhere. No loose threads, no loose stitching. The seams are very robust. The fabric is also non-standard as it feels very soft and has a mesh look while underneath there is a soft underlayer. The mouth and nose section is a lighter mesh for breathability. This is great since breathing under a mask in cold weather generally creates condensation and extreme wetness unless you dry it out while wearing it. I like this feature a lot since I won't feel clamminess around my face, plus it won't freeze after getting too wet. This will be great to wear while hiking or camping in the forest in the cooler winter time as well since it can get quite warm. The eyeglass holes by the ears are innovative. I can actually wear sunglasses and not have the mask press against the legs of the glasses which invariably squash the side of my head. The neck section hugs my neck nicely and it fits well. The little reflective parts is an added bonus when walking by traffic at night. Read more

I ride both my big atv and my KLR 650 adv bike in all weather here in the Pacific Northwest from mild to subzero temps. I ride with a helmet on my atv in colder weather as well and always with my motorcycle and this thinner material makes getting into my helmet super easy. I have a lot of balaclavas. This, out of the box, has a quality made feel to it. It's stretchy and light. It's just right for mild temps from 60 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. I absolutely love the holes for glasses as I wear prescription glasses. I have a bigger head and this fits pretty good. Read more
It is made of a very thin and stretchy material. As such it does not hold its shape very well. Took a while to get it to fit on my head properly. I was expecting something a bit thicker. This is made of a fabric of a thickness akin to a cotton 6 pack white t shirt. Almost see through. When cold weather comes around we shall see. For the price its not underwhelming. It was just not what I expected. I have a fleece item similar it style to this and was looking for something a bit thinner, not a LOT thinner. It does not fit my need, I do not recommend. Read more
