High-Quality Matcha Made Easy

GeorgeDecember 23, 2025

Excellent quality matcha. Smooth, vibrant green color with no bitterness at all. The single-serve sticks are super convenient and always fresh. You can really taste the premium, first-harvest quality. One of the best ceremonial matcha options I’ve tried — highly recommend. Read more

Great for the occasional matcha drinker with one critical flaw

ErinJuly 6, 2025

I bought these packets because I love matcha, but I have a history of not drinking it often enough to get through a whole tin before it starts to oxidize. Even though these packets are more expensive per cup, I thought I might actually save money because I wouldn’t be wasting any tea due to spoilage. These packets totally ruined that plan. First, the flavor is smooth and mild with no metallic or other off flavors. It has almost a sweet, creamy latte vibe on its own that makes a for a nice relaxing pause to a busy workday, followed by a gentle lift of energy to take me all the way to dinner. Second, the convenience makes it truly effortless to prepare a perfect cup. It’s so easy that my husband has gotten in the habit of offering to whip up a cup for me on an almost daily basis. Now that I’m having a cup almost every afternoon, I’m clearly not going to be saving money because I’m going through my supply at a much quicker pace. It’s well within my budget, so I’ll be happily reordering as long as the quality holds up. Read more

Strong, legit!

BelindaDecember 8, 2025

Strong, creamy, the real stuff. I drink matcha frequently at home, but not when I am traveling as I have been disappointed with whatever overpriced green stuffs they served me. I got the travel sachets, and it has been wonderful to still have quality matcha on the road, no matter where I am! Read more

Best Individual Pack Matcha out there

Leila L’AbateJuly 21, 2025

I was trained in Urasenke-style tea cremony 28 years ago, back when almost all non-organic matcha had msg added, and there were only a couple of traditional organic brands that tea schools used. You had to know someone in Japan who would send you "the good stuff." Now matcha has exploded so much, Japan has a shortage, and the best companies have to ration out their sales, and all have to pay tariffs if exported to the US. This tea arrived with beautiful Washi paper around a thank you note, matching a Japanese tea aesthetic the black design of its packaging does not, since we in the US associate black with death, and "Ki" means life force. Had I not been familiar with the high reputation of the company, I would not have ordered a black-packaged matcha. I suspected this matcha would be very good, because the same company sells "Akira" matcha, which used to routinely be listed as the best, or one of the top five, in outside -of -Amazon matcha reviews, until a couple of years ago, when much more expensive brands started being ranked as well. I had been looking for on-the-go reasonably- priced individual matcha packs for traveling, since Rishi discontinued theirs. Other brands were either not-so-good, or the Andrew Weil brand was too expensive. This is the only one that passes the taste and price test, until tariffs take hold. This has some of the flavorful umami complexity one would expect for "ceremonial" matcha, but not as good as from the best matcha region of Japan, where some of the company's other matchas come from, Uji. . It appears to be blended from different sources, from Shizuoka, so some of it has a pleasant bitterness when tasting just the powder, (not the wretched unpalatable bitterness of inferior matcha). Shizuoka matchas typically do not have the depth of different flavors that Uji ones do, and are less expensive. It has a heavenly transcendent sweetish "green" aftertaste, more subtle than grassy, only the very best matchas have. The steam aroma contributes to this. When making matcha more traditionally, only 1/2 teaspoon, 1 gram, is used (traditionally on a bamboo scoop) in 2 1/2 ounces of water, after sifting for clumps. The water should have small simmering bubbles only, not a full boil. A traditional bamboo whisk can used, or if you are time-crunched like me, one can shake it up in a jar. For any tea, for full flavor, spring water with minerals retained, not reverse osmosis, is best. These packs contain a generous 1.5 gram portion. When at home, I swing the pack to get the .5 grams extra to settle in the bottom, and roll it up and put a rubber band around it. One of the packs of this matcha had some of the hardest clumps I have ever encountered, which might be disconcerting for some if using these away from home, without a sifter. But I like the little bursts of extra flavor these clumps provide. I take my jar with me to mix it! But overall, this is by far the best individual matcha in a pack I have found flavor-wise. 1 stick is not even close to enough to make a latte

AliMay 10, 2025

It has a nice light matcha flavor but it takes like 3 sticks to have enough matcha to make a 12oz latte so it’s not worth it Read more

Matcha Konomi KI – Rating: (5/5)

IvanellysApril 23, 2025

I’ve tried a bunch of different matcha brands, and Matcha Konomi KI is honestly one of the best I’ve had. It’s a ceremonial grade, first harvest matcha, and you can really tell the quality. The color is this super vibrant green — exactly what you want to see — and the smell is fresh and slightly sweet, not dull or grassy like lower quality matcha. When I whisked it up, it blended really smoothly with a nice frothy top. Taste-wise, it’s smooth, with a natural sweetness and that rich umami flavor you get from good matcha. No bitterness, just clean and balanced. Overall, if you’re into matcha or even just getting into it, this is definitely a great one to try. Read more
