Heats up very fast. The cover fits nicely. My only concern (4 stars) is how hot the outside container gets. I definitely recommend protection to countertops before starting the pot. I’ve had this cooker for several months now, and I love it. It’s a wide oval shape, which makes it easy to stir and ot cooks very evenly. I have now used this slow cooker instead of my instant pot about four times, so I think I have some nuggets of wisdom: -This works really well, though it is kind of slow to heat up. I think this brand is comparable to larger known brands on the Market. -No funny smells coming out of the box -Easy to clean, doesn't chip when being washed or dried, no flaking -Cooks evenly, and pot roast always turns out well. -Lid is good quality glass. We have been busy using this nice and large slow cooker over the holidays. It has been a blessing to have such an efficient, and most of all, reliable cooker during intense holiday gathers and meals. The cooker has three heat settings which are easy to select and I found the heat settings to be stable and consistent. The only drawback is a short cord which restricts the area where it can be used as it’s a large cooker and requires a good amount of space and clearance.
