This is a very sturdy set of knives. And holy cow, are they sharp out of the box. I saw one review where it said to make sure you wash and wipe them off right away, so they don’t rust. When buying knives, my biggest concern was whether they rust easily or not. I’ve never had any knives rust on me. But we’ll see. But this is the sharpest set I’ve ever had. I’m looking at the sharpener, I’m not too sure about that. We’ll see when the time comes if I have to sharpen one. But it won’t be a dealbreaker. Read more
First the good: This knife set is functional AND beautiful! The handles are very comfortable to hold, and all the knives have really good balance to them. It says it's made from German stainless steel, just like my current Henkel knife set. The scissors cut really well, too, and will be handy for things like trimming chicken or opening packages. This set even has some built-in features like a knife sharpener on the knife block, and a bottle opener on the scissors. I have no complaints on the performance of this knife set. Now for the only downside: When I looked at the product listing on this, I was picturing receiving a WHITE knife set. I envisioned putting it on my white countertop, coordinating it with my white Keurig K200, my white Drinkmate soda maker, yada, yada…So I was kind of disappointed when I opened the box that this knife set was not white, even though it was labeled white. It is more of a light beige or light tan color. Like, if you look at the product listing, you can see the white plastic built-in knife sharpener, right? And the knife block is just a teenie bit off as far as color goes to the plastic knife sharpener, so I'm thinking this knife set is going to probably be a soft white color -- maybe not a crisp white, but still white. But look at the photo I took of that same area on the knife block that arrived, this is just not white. It's still a beautiful knife set, but it's just not clicking color-wise in my kitchen. If I was working at a department store, I would have put this in the beige/tan section without a second thought. But like I said, this is still a beautiful and well-made knife set, and it's a keeper. Just note that if you're looking specifically for a white knife set, this color may not meet your expectations.
