I have to admit I didn't check the size before ordering. While still technically handheld-size, this is more of a countertop unit. However, the scissor sharpener is very nice to have and works well, which somewhat makes up for the size, but I still think it could've been like 30% smaller and just as functional. Also, the instructions that came with mine are in Chinese, but it's easy to use and works like basically any other multi-stage knife sharpener. Other than those small complaints, it sharpens well. I do like the stainless steel aesthetic too, which fits in nicely with our appliances. Read more

It appears to be okay, but there were no instructions in english! Lame Read more
I really like this product it is very easy to use and words very well Read more
I got this 4-stage kitchen knife sharpener because most of my knives had gotten pretty dull, and I didn’t want to spend money replacing them. It’s really easy to use, and I like that each slot has a different purpose—repair, sharpen, polish, and even one for scissors. I tried it first on an old chef’s knife, and after a few passes it was cutting through veggies like new. The handle feels comfortable and gives a solid grip, so I didn’t feel like it was slipping while I was sharpening. It’s lightweight but still feels sturdy enough to hold up to regular use. I also like that it doesn’t take up much counter space, so I can just tuck it in a drawer when I’m done. The only small downside is that it takes a little practice to pull the blade through evenly, but once you get the hang of it, it’s quick and efficient. Overall, this sharpener is a super practical tool for any kitchen and saves money by making old knives useful again. Read more
Very good sharpener. Great Price for a multi stage and multi tool sharpener. It's not professional so don't go crazy but it does great for a quick sharpener for your everyday kitchen knives as well as your scissors. It's well made and very grippable and sturdy. Nothing worse than a sharpener that wiggles on you. It's long enough to have over the edge of the counter so you aren't whacking you countertop. Start with the ceramic and if you're not seeing the sharpness you want move back to the heavier stage and work your way up. Easy to use. Pretty idiot proof. Read more
This is a decent knife sharpener that is very easy to use. Simply pull the knife through each sharpening stage to quickly restore dull blades in minutes. The sharpener is well-made and feels very sturdy. It’s comfortable to use and has a large base that prevents it from moving around while sharpening. I also love the added bonus of a built-in scissor sharpener, a great feature to have. Read more

KNIFE SHARPENING: This knife sharpener has some nice features. It's a comfortable size to hold steady on the edge of a table or counter while sharpening. It has a padded base to protect a wood surface if that's what you're placing it onto and to keep it from slipping on the table when using it. The stainless steel surfaces are easy to clean with a damp sponge. I like the fact that, at least for general knife sharpening, the sharpener is fully ambidextrous. Meaning, a left handed person can hold it down with their right hand while using their left for holding a knife. Nothing in the description or the instructions (on the outside of the box) mention what cutting angle is imparted to your knives. I measured the unit delivered to me by taking a closeup image of the sharpening stones and using a computer graphics program to measure the angles. The sharpener appears to be designed to give about a 19.5 degree edge. While this is a good angle for general kitchen and knife cutlery, be aware that various Japanese blades and specialty blades such as filet knives have smaller angles which this sharpener will ruin if used on them. Knife blades which were sharpened on this came out with a decent edge, but were made better when the sharpening was followed up by a couple of honing passes against a steel. Again, follow the instructions which were only printed on the outside of the box. I think that this is a good knife sharpener for everyday use, as it is easy to use, easily stored, and takes the guesswork out of getting a consistent angle on the cutting edge. The list price of $20 is a little high for what you get, but the current (-20%) "discounted" price seems to be fair compared to other similar sharpeners. SCISSOR SHARPENING: Scissor sharpening is designed to sharpen both blades at the same time according to both the instructions and the pictures on the product description. (Be sure to only enter the scissors from the side of the sharpener having the embossed numbers on it). Scissors, like knives, come in a variety of honed angles, and this sharpener imparts a fixed 32 degree angle (from what I can measure). If this doesn't match your particular scissors, then avoid using it. I used it on a general pair of scissors that were getting dull enough to not be able to cut thin plastic bags (which I feel is a better test of scissors than simply cutting paper). The scissor sharpener does an okay job but has some issues in its design that impedes getting the full length of each scissor edges sharpened because the ceramic is about 14mm in from the outside edge of the sharpener, thus keeping you from being able to sharpen the portion of the scissor blade closest the handle. (From where you start a cut). But even with that engagement limitation the sharpener restored a good edge to these scissors. Read more
