I’m not sure why there are so many bad reviews, it almost kept me from purchasing this blender but I love my KitchenAid stand mixer so I decided to get this to match. It’s by far the best blender I’ve ever used—it’s heavy and feels durable. I’ve been making smoothies, salsas, and açaí bowls almost every day since it arrived. The presets for crushing ice and blending drinks are awesome and work great! It also has specially designed blades that pull the contents down so everything is always evenly blended. The only con I have is that it’s very loud but it is a POWERFUL blender so I don’t mind. I also think for the price it should come with a glass pitcher vs plastic. The gear that turns the blade is plastic and I worry about longevity but time will tell. Overall very pleased with this blender! Read more

I am so pleased that I purchased this blender! After much research on blenders, I decided that Kitchen Aid and, of course, Amazon had the best price It is an expensive blender, but if you are looking for the perfect blender without spending even more. Makes perfect margaritas in such a short time. Blended perfectly just like the Mexicans restaurants! Don’t buy just a margarita machine that is so big and only does frozen drinks. This blender can be used for so many other jobs in no time.. It is really heavy so it does not move around. The footprint is small. Looks nice on the counter! Money well spent! Read more

This blender is wonderful! The preset modes use variable speeds to get your drink or smoothies just right. I’ve been using a personal blender for so long that I forgot how well a REAL blender works! This feels solid and is much quieter than the personal blenders I’ve used! I love the self clean feature as well! The footprint on my countertop is minimal, and it looks great sitting next to my KitchenAid mixer! Read more

Well functioning product. I read a few reviews stating the operation of the device is difficult, it seems fairly simple to use from my point of view. My only negative comment is about the aesthetics of the blender. The silver band around the base wasn’t secured and contributed to the overall appearance of being cheaply made. Although the price certainly doesn’t reflect that. Read more

I've had this blender for over a year now, and it is my favorite blender by far. We have a vitamix I've used at work for years, and this matches it in blending power and consistency for sure. It is easier to clean since the bottom of the blender is a bit wider, making it easier to scoop food out of it. It has a self-clean mode that works well. It is loud for sure, but so are most of the blenders I've used. I've used this blender 2-3 times a week for a year and it is simple and easy. As far as the folks complaining about the controls, I just don't get it. If you want to blend like on a vitamix, you select your blend speed on the 0-5 range and blend. If you want to make a smoothie, you select smoothie and push the start button. It has a built in timer and stops when it's done. Want to crush ice? Select ice crush. That's seriously all you have to do. It doesn't get much easier than this folks. I guess people either refuse to read a quick guide or won't do anything their smartphone doesn't control for them. I definitely recommend this blender for anyone looking to spend less than Blendtec or Vitamix but able to spend enough for a premium blender. I am not paid by kitchenaid and bought this myself. The media could not be loaded. I really wanted Vitamix to be my ultimate blender and join the ranks of the coolk kids. But after buying two different Vitamix models and the Kitchen-Aid K400, I simply liked the K400 better and returned the Vita-hypes. Don't you love it when you like the cheaper thing better? 99% of my blender use is for smoothies and protein shakes (usually one of each per day) and the K400 just worked better for me. And it was great! Until... The seal failed, releasing a very foul-smelling grease (mostly out the bottom, from what I can tell). I contacted KitchenAid customer service—a laborious task; whether by phone or by chat, set aside an hour of your east-coast-hours-only day (I'd recommend calling). But, when you finally get somebody on the line, they are very helpful. For some reason, they can't just give you a replacement jar, and have to replace the whole blender. Whatever, I'll take it. It took a couple weeks, but they shipped out a whole new blender. So, in that regards the warranty is an A+. The replacement blender worked great... for another ~3 months, before... another broken seal. So, another hour of multiaskting-at-work later and I have yet another new blender a few weeks later. Surely it was just coincidental bad luck to have two bad blender jars? Nope. Here I am, 6 blenders later (or has it been 7 now?). Which brings me to this review and me giving up on this blender that I otherwise love. I suppose if you only use the blender once a month or so, it may last you for years. But if you're using it daily for moderately blendy blending it WILL fail. UPDATE Feb. 2025: So this last warranty-repacement blender I received lasted ~6 months before the jar began to leak. So here I am again requesting a warranty replacement from Kitchen Aid. Except this time, suddenly customer service is telling me that some of the broken blenders were never received back by them (they want the broken one back, which makes sense—and it's pre-paid, so no problem). But I sent them back. Of course, I don't have any way to prove I sent them back, as it was over a year ago and those shipping receipts are long gone. So, they ARE NOT honoring a warranty replacement this time. I don't blame the customer service rep; her system is showing that I have 3 blenders that were never returned. But also, something is broken in their system, because I'm not over here hoarding blenders. So, because their system is broken, I'm out of warranty. The funny part about all of this... not funny, ha-ha, but funny ridiculous... is that when the customer service rep was going through my "file" (yes they have a FILE), it did not even phase them that I've gone through so many blenders (a total of 7!). I explained about the leaking seals, and they just sorta say, "uh-huh." They don't seem at all surprised that the blender has broken so many times, which suggests to me that this is very common. Your mileage may vary. Read more
