I will attempt to go straight to the points for a quick read.... Heavier than our old Rival Brand that eventually cracked its crock. Electronic temperature control will not burn the food but will likely require longer cooking time. Precise temperature, regardless of the quantity of food. Accurate timer that drops to "keep warm" mode after cooking time has expired. Cooked food evenly with no burned edges. Handles are safe to hold, but metal outside surface is uncomfortable to contact very long. No lid clamps. One important note to consider: Unlike dumb mechanical switch crocks, this has an electronic control with no memory. If the power goes out, even for a moment, it will shut off. This could be an important consideration for people that have unreliable power but like to leave it cook all day unattended. We ordered the refurbished version. It arrived in a box that showed that it was refurbished by the manufacturer and looked new. Plastic bags, packing, and inserts were all included. I am very disappointed that Amazon continues to sell a product, KitchenAid 6Qt. slow cooker that KitchenAid itself no longer manufactures and has since discontinued. But it is unsatisfactory that KitchenAid is sticking consumers with a product, that was working great until it wasn't. I even offered to pay out of pocket for a replacement and KitchenAid customer service explained that even if I wanted to because they no longer manufacture the product it wouldn't matter. And because of that I would recommend instead of going with a Crock Pot, Hamilton Beach or any other manufacturer. Read more
