Easy to use; great accessory

This works great to make ice cream desserts with the Kitchenaid. You have to freeze the container for 24 hours to get the best effect. Easy to attach to the mixer base. Read more

Took forever to arrive...but worth the wait!

It came in what would appear to be brand new condition...which is what a refurbished item should be! Made my very first batch less than 24 hours later and it works so much better than I thought or hoped. Recipes are stupid easy and easy to find, but the base is always 2 cups heavy cream, 1 cup whole milk, pinch of salt, and .5 to 1.5 cups sugar (depending on what you're making). 20 - 30 mins later...you have ice cream! Costco has the cheapest heavy cream, so go there. If you typically drink 2% milk, up the cream to 2.25 cups and reduce the milk to .75 cup...worked perfectly. My ONLY complaint: it took FOREVER to be delivered. Read the instructions, it'll be worth the whole 5 minutes of your time...especially when it comes to cleaning and setup! It makes about 1 quart of ice cream per session, so be prepared if you're doing this for company as you can only do it about once a day...maybe twice if you have a REALLY cold freezer. Read more

Yum! Sooo good! 😋

So far, I’ve made 2 batches of ice cream in my new Kitchen Aid ice cream bowl. Had a little trouble putting the drive assembly on. Directions in accompanying booklet says to install drive assembly with “B” side closest to motor head. This is true if you have the Kitchen Aid mixer with arms that hold the bowl. I have an older model mixer without bowl arms and the “A” side goes on first. I think the manufacturer should make that clearer in the booklet (I found out on the Kitchen Aid website). Now that I’ve got the hang of it I love it! The only problem is staying away from the ice cream once it’s made!! Read more

Worked perfectly!

As per other reviews, it worked as expected. Having made ice cream with the old fashioned hand crank & ice/salt mixture, I knew what to expect as far as hardness vs soft serve. My one suggestion is to make your ice cream liquid mixture for only 1 quart when adding fruit (I used diced peaches). It definitely makes almost a full 2 quarts when finished. Also, next time I will mix the peaches in by hand because the ice cream was even softer after adding the peaches & the freezer bowl had thawed by then & didn't really freeze anymore. Read more
