KitchenAid Variable Speed Corded Hand Blender KHBV53 White

This stick blender is amazing! I had a Bamix for 10 years that just stopped working. Ordered this thinking it would be just okay, but it has impressed me more than I can say. This is the first blender I've had that's been able to grind up flax seeds in my smoothie - always hated having to grind them separately before adding. Walnuts are no problem either - frozen fruit poses no challenge! My smoothies are actually smooth. I also like the silicon pan guard. I make a lot of soups that are thickened by blending some of the veggies. This blender is well worth every penny! It is reasonably priced and such a pleasure to use. Blender has two parts that easily twist to lock / unlock the blender/emulsion wand from the AC powered motor unit. Easy to clean - wipe the motor unit with a damp sponge. I ran the emulsion/blender wand over hot water and soapy brush. I am sure it's dishwasher safe (I don't own one). Power control is simple via the big accessible push button on the motor unit. Push in a little bit and blender is slow.. push in further and it speeds up. Product also comes with a blender cup for smoothies. I use the blender in measuring cups with things I need to mix up / emulsify or I am using it in the pots while they are on the stove. This unit is powerful too. It created a suction when I used it in a 1 C measuring cup and was covered by the liquid -- which is excellent. It is so powerful with the suction and emulsion blending, I needed to turn the unit off to pull it out. You CAN pull it out but the suction is intense -- which I tried. I did not complete it with the unit on, otherwise I would have power sprayed my kitchen with my mixture.. LOL. Read more

I've had this for a few weeks and use it several times per week. I bought this because my Oster blender kept getting overworked and burning out. This immersion blender has been an absolute game changer in my kitchen. Whipping cream, making smoothies, mayonnaise, nice foamy lattes, this thing does it all with ease. The full-size KitchenAid will blend rocks into soup, but it's like 40lbs. The big guy only gets broken out of its cupboard for serious meals or baking now as there simply isn't enough counter-top for all of the appliances to hang out together. This little blender has been getting all the smaller mixing jobs since it arrived. Ours was delivered over a year ago. It cleans up and works as if it were new. Blades are still sharp as well. The media could not be loaded. I like how quiet and smooth this immersion blender is and the quality of materials used. It feels sturdy, super easy to clean, and came with a snap on plastic guard to protect coated pots/pans. Much improved design and ergonomics over my previous KitchenAid immersion blender (better grip and button placement). It's one speed and has no problem with hot or cold liquids. The covered container is also nice to have for smaller jobs. The head twist and clicks on/off firmly. Nice engagement between the motor shaft and the blender shaft too. Hope this helps! Great little tool. A great choice! I find myself using it everyday. Breaks up ice into smoothies with amazing speed and power. Its so convenient on my kitchen counter. It comes with a clear glass size container that you can mix drinks in. I particularly like that the mixing blade attachment easily unscrews to put in the sink, in the dishwasher or inside the cup container to set aside, while the plug in componet stays plugged in and on the counter. I've used it for sauces on the stove. I have a vitamix, which is very powerful, but this tool works just as well! Read more
