I have always liked Klein electric tool, because they just work. Had a heck of a time locating a circuit breaker, my house has a huge panel box and 3 sub boxes. At first, I decided to save some money and get a different less expensive breaker finder. To be completely honest, I thought it was Klein because it was the same color, which is on me. That device did not work, keep showing false positives on the same 3 breakers no matter what outlet I had the tester/transponder plugged into. Even when I knew exactly what breaker it was, the other devices failed to recognize it. Tried and tried over and over with the same false positive results. So, I decided to spend the extra money, which in hindsight was only another $15, and purchase this set. Bonus, this set came with a lot more plus the case for another $5, which is well worth it. I could now not only test outlets to make more they were wired correctly, but also test and trace breakers with outlets, two pongs, light socket and live exposed wires. Very nice. To test the breaker finder functionality, I plugged the tester/transmitter into a random outlet and confirmed it was wired correctly, which it was. Went downstairs, turned on the breaker finder, "the wand", on my way because I read to do this away from the panel box. Once I got to the box, I ran the wand down the breakers- top to bottom- left to right- first one row and then the other, ignoring the beeping and lights. This apparently learns the breakers, gets an ideal of what's up. Started the process over again and the wand went berserk on the very last breaker- short increased beeping with a red light- over a double 15-amp breaker. I did not think this was the correct breaker at all because it was a different breaker than the other outlets in the room that I knew of. Said to myself, here we go again, another defective unit that doesn't work, thanks Klein, had high hopes for you, you never let me down before. Held the wand away, reset it and ran the test again, showed the exact same breaker, the very last one in the box, double 15 amp and it even told me it was the top 15-amp switch, not the bottom 15. I reluctantly flipped that breaker off, more out of spite than anything and went upstairs to see what clocks I need to reset and where. MUCH to my surprise, the tester plugged into the outlet was off, no "correct wiring" lights or anything. Humm, must have turned itself off, which didn't make sense since it gets it power from the outlet, so I took it out and plugged it back in and ALAS no power! That was the exact correct breaker!
