Seven months ago, I ordered this mat for my rolling office chair. The hardwood floor was getting worn because of the wheels. I installed this mat, and the problem has been solved. It does not curl around the edges. It has a nice pattern. The mat shows no signs of wear. The chair glides over it better than any other mat I have used. I just ordered another one for my kid's desk, because I just installed a new floor in his room. I know this mat will prevent the floor from getting scratched or worn. It is also a good size. This mat was not good at all. In no way, shape or form did it help my rolling chair move easier. In fact, it is worse than it was on the carpet. It bunches up, the wheels get stuck, and it doesn’t stay firmly on the ground. It’s already ripping too. So, save yourself the time and don’t attempt to use this one. Go get a better one elsewhere. It wasn't rolled too tightly, yet I still "reverse rolled" it to help it relax before putting down. (The ends still want to curl a bit, but I re-rolled the edge and it's laying pretty flat immediately after unpacking.) First I was impressed with the rubbery feeling backing, and it's gripping where I lay it down really well. I like the way the black pattern looks on the cement floor of my basement by my desk. I am also surprised by how thin this actually is... not sure what I expected, but I feel the chair may roll off it, and thus, back on to it easily. And here's the kicker and exactly what I needed - my rolling office chair is much harder to roll around under me. I'm surprised how much rolling resistance it has now! My basement floor is slightly pitched in case of water of course, and while not noticeable under normal circumstances, I found myself rolling away from my desk, or into it, based on how I moved or leaned back in the chair LOL Now? The chair stays put unless I consciously decide to move. I have to plant my feet and push to move now - and I love it. The quality seems really good and I have no reason to doubt it'll last - but time will tell. Read more
