We got these knives as part of a kitchen equipment refresh to fill voids in our cutlery needs. Spent several days comparing different brands, sets and even finishes within the Astercook lines. Finally settled on this set after watching an unboxing video where I discovered these knives, despite how they may look in pictures, are solid metal and not a metal blade with a chrome plastic handle. Big points for all metal construction in my book! Used these knives to prepare Thanksgiving dinner (chef, santoku, peeling and pairing knives were used) and well... They are definitely sharp! I cut myself slightly within the first hour because I let my hand get to close to the blade while dicing potatoes - oops! These knives felt good in my hands, cut the food exceptionally well, and were well balanced while using them. As an added bonus you get to hear the metal twang you expect from quality metal blades when inserting or removing the knives from the block. You just don't get that work other cheap knife sets. Overall great buy for the price, great addition to our kitchen! Definitely recommend. Read more
