This product does not correspond to the pictures as far as size. Though, smaller than it shows, the overall product is 31.5 cm, not the rod. The usable honing portion of the rod is 16.5 cm. That said, I would have sent it back, except that it is an incredibly good product. And, if your knives are sharpened on an electric diamond sharpener (every 6 months if this is used regularly), this will bring them back to a scary sharp edge quickly. I also have to admit, I like the shorter rod as far as use. It goes on sale regularly for $2.99, and I paid $3.98. At that price, it is well worth it. Now, whether it will hold up, I can't say. This knife sharpener rod sharpens great! It's easy to use, works well, and is a good value! Read more
Have used this rod for over a year and stored it in the same slot as a pair of scissors so it sees plenty of wear and tear. It still sharpens knives almost as well as when I first got it. The handle is comfortable to hold and it is not too light or heavy. Great value for a low price. I am a home cook with a preference for rod sharpeners over V-shaped blade sharpeners, but have no professional experience. YMMV Read more
