Knife Sharpener System with Precision Angle Adjustable - 7 Whetstones Tool with Ceramic and Diamond Knife Sharpening Kit

I already had manual and electric knife sharpeners and Japanese whetstone kits before I bought this one, and I'm glad I get this sharpener system. This one has solved three major issues I had with the other products, which are 1) the angle is not adjustable, 2) there is no consistency in holding the angle when sharpening, and 3) there is no control in how sharpening is handled. The stand is easy to assemble, probably took me 3 minutes to put things together as the design is very straightforward. The kit has a variety of whetstones to select from, covering from initial pulls to final polishes, which is very neat. There is also a box to store all of them. The use is very simple and the angle is precisely adjusted by a solid screw to ensure accuracy. Switching between whetstones is fast and easy, and the sharpening process is simple as well, though it took me a while to become familiar with the motions yet then I'm very efficient. I was done with dull knives. I’d been used by a whetstone for decades and never nailed a perfect edge. I bought this system and spent a morning bringing them back. I had to start off with the coarse stones as I had to reshape the edges. I progressively went to finer grades and finally got blades that work as designed. Read more

Received item in original packaging. First negative point. Also 90% of the pieces were missing. I have to now return it to UPS and box it up and wait 7 days for a refund. You can sharpen medium sized knives ok with this kit. If built better would be easier to use. However for occasional sharpening and relatively low kit cost an ok product. Read more

Overall I’m happy with this sharpener. It has a fine selection of grits and accomplished it’s goal of sharpening my blades. It takes some practice and does leave a bit of a pattern on the edge, but that could be something that would be reduced with experience. An additional star could have been earned had it been made of metal vs plastic to give it additional table top weight and a less cheap feel.
