Forget the cheap plastic mats; this glass mat is in a different league. It looks so sleek and professional. I bought this glass chair mat for under my podcast desk because we just installed new carpet and I did not want my office chair chewing it up. My wife definitely laughed when she saw what I paid for “a piece of glass.” Fair enough. But here is the thing. Once we set it up and put my desk on it, which probably weighs somewhere between a small rhinoceros and a compact car, it held up perfectly. No cracks, no shifting, no drama. The non slip pads actually do their job, and my chair rolls smoothly instead of getting stuck in the carpet. Now nobody is laughing.
