This is one of few 1080p (you have to enable hdr in the menus for whatever reason but it then snaps the picture to 1080p. The speakers on this device arent great. The menu interface is a bit old. My use case is interesting though. This device has hdmi input, which means its a portable 1080p monitor that has a 4 hour battery. Being in IT and enjoying pc building, its useful to have something like this. Lastly and the wild one, I hooked up a fire tv 4k stick and im able to use it on this thing in my garage. The fire stick needs power so I'd need a battery bank to make it fully portable but this has turned into a fun find. I was not able to pair the fire remote with the devices in, it seems not to know how to communicate but it works fine otherwise. Read more
I just received it today easy to set up and works great. Put a dvd in it and the color was beautiful the only thing that did not work was the dvd remote. I use the batteries that came with it and it didn’t turn on so I put in new batteries that I had and it didn’t work. So I’m going to contact Amazon on getting another remote Read more

Since it had a 4.2 star rating, I figured I would give it a shot. It had mixed reviews on whether or not the speakers were good. They have a 1-100 scale, but anything over twenty doesn't make a difference, and it is so quiet, it is ridiculous. I could almost look past that part, or the part where it took six hours to charge. What I couldn't look past was that it advertised that it could power a fire stick. Every time you try, you see the fire stick logo for a split second, and then it switches back over to dvd. It does technically work, and it does play discs from different regions, but it's kind of a piece of crap. When using the remote, it responds to about one button press out of every ten. When using the buttons on the device, the most basic functions like Play and Pause work. However, trying to navigate menus is impossible, because options will get selected without a button press. Because of issues with buttons on device and remote responsiveness, there is no way to select an episode on a TV disc, or navigate scenes in any way aside from fast forwarding. But if you put the disc in and press play, it does generally play. I have had one instance so far of it starting to have picture issues (blank screen, frozen image, or colored stripes all over screen) after playing discs for quite awhile. I did not expect this to be very good, and it isn't! But I needed a region free player and there aren't many qualify options available. Read more
