The display is colorful and easy to read. The indoor/outdoor temps appear to be spot on. The outdoor transmitter has good range too. There’s no atomic time set, but the clock is accurate and easy to set. I understand this is a discontinued model, but it’s still a good one. Read more

Just what we were looking for to replace our old La Crosse unit (over 10 years old) that died. The setup was a breeze, the size is good, displays are easy to read, not to busy looking. We wanted one that includes an AC cord to save on batteries. This main unit will operate totally on batteries &/or the cord. I think that one reason our other unit died was possibly due to corrosion in the battery compartment of the main unit, which we never bothered to check since it was always plugged in. The price was reasonable, and hopefully this unit will last as long. After taking the old and corroded batteries out of our old unit, I plugged it back in and it works just fine, so now we have 2 units on opposite sides of the house. What a great day! Read more

I have a PRIOR VERSION of this which is black LCD on a silver background. My only complaint is that there was no backlight, which is an issue when I want to see the outside temperature in the pre-dawn hours. I always had to move it to where there was enough light to read the display so I didn’t have to turn on other lights in the house. I looked far and wide for one that came with a backlight option, and this was the closest match I could find. It’s not bad, but you need the backlight to read it…day or night. This is not a problem if you opt to leave it plugged in (illuminated constantly), but that means you have to press a button to illuminate during the day if it’s only using batteries. Otherwise, it is very nice and easy to read. I’d give it 5 stars if it was readable in normal light without needing the backlight. *UPDATE* Be warned that the interior temperature sensor may be sensitive to influences. When I placed this side-by-side with its predecessor, it consistently read about 1 degree (F) higher. While this is within the margin or error for temperature sensors and not an issue, when both units were placed near an item generating heat or releasing cold, this unit was more affected...indicating a higher or lower indoor temperature (by sometimes 5 degrees F) than the actual air temperature in the room. Just keep this in mind when deciding where to place it. Read more

Love it! I leave it plugged in and the crisp bright display is awesome. Overall size not "too big" but most importantly the screen and numerals are large and data can be read from a distance. As best I can tell it's accurate. Programming (date, time) was easy with good instructions included. I also have batteries installed as a backup in case the power goes out, occasional occurrence here, so that I won't have to program all over. Gave two of these away as Christmas presents. After 15 months one La Crosse wireless began erratic measurements. Thus from 5* I downgraded to 4* since the other ones I purchased are working, for now. Read more

I bought this meter because, I wanted to monitor the temperature inside a tent. I put the sensor inside one of the tent pockets, and I have the display inside the house plugged in to the wall. I put a couple of batteries inside the display as well, incase a power outage happens, It can keep its data. Both the display unit, and the sensor, use 2-AA batteries. The display can provide you the time, the day/date, the indoor temperature, and the outdoor temperature. Readings can be displayed in Celsius or Fahrenheit. The display will also record temperature trends, showing weather the trend is high or low. The unit is easy to set up, and only takes a few minutes. After putting batteries in the sensor and powering up the display device, it only takes a little while for it to connect with the sensor, but be patient! I feel that this meter is pretty accurate, as I have compared it to another one from another brand, and they were pretty much matching up perfectly. I really like the colorful display, and the quick readings it provides. The top numbers are your time, the day is displayed bellow that, then you have the indoor temperature in amber, and the outdoor temperature in green. I did have one issue when it became night time, the meter lost connection to the sensor. All I did was hold the minus button down 3-seconds to make the meter search for the sensor again, and it was back. Since multiple people are leaving reviews about the meter loosing connection with the sensor, its obviously a real problem that the company needs to fix. However, some people are leaving their outdoor sensors in the elements without shield plate protection, and the sensor getting batted by heavy winds, rain, snow, it just kills them. My sensor doesn't need the shield, because its protected inside the tent. So far, my meter is holding up since I reconnected it to the sensor, hopefully it stays that way. I really like the colorful display, I love how accurate it is, and it really helps to monitor the temperature inside that tent, as I don't want it getting too cold, or too warm during the winter time. The meter really helped me to dial in the heater. I do recommend it, but be aware it does have some faults. 4 out of 5 stars. Read more
