I was happy to find this drive as I always recommend to my students never to buy a drive with only one port - it must have 2 options if a port goes bad so that data can still be recovered before the drive totally dies. I appreciate Lacie Rugged in still having these drives available as any student who bought the cheap one with one port always came to me at a most challenging time when their drive stopped working. How to get all their hard work recovered wo spending so much money to recover. I am only frustrated that the price on the 2 TB doubled since 2018 and very few available - what a rip off. It costs less for the 5TB by far than the smaller capacity. This is not an advantage as anyone knows - 5TB of information on a drive is 5TB to lose. That is why I prefer the smaller capacity. I hope they bring it back at a reasonable price. And finally - who has not lost the cord to a drive at the most inconvenient time? Lacie was brilliant to have one that wraps neatly around this drive + you have the other one to lose. Read more

After nearly a year of good communication to the external drive, the OS (Win&Mac) stopped seeing the drive. Clicking noise started a few weeks ago of this writing. The online product support link Amazon provided did not work. 404 error was the message. Then called their support number listed by Amazon and left voicemail. Still no return call, again as of this writing. Still need an external drive but not likely it will be from this vendor again. Read more
