I had my HP Windows 10 computer for more than 15 years that I purchased at Costco. I wished I would have known about Laplink PCmover many years ago. I held off from upgrading to Windows 11 buying a new computer because I had many programs that I could no longer re-install because I no longer had the CD or the download link. When I discovered Laplink PCmover I decided to take a chance and buy a new computer W11 and see if I could move all my programs to my new computer W11 with Laplink PCmover Ultimate 11 with the data cable. WOW! 3 hours later and moving over 100 GB worth of data - programs, I was in total disbelief. I purchase the software with the data cable and I was impressed with the speed that it took to move over 100 GB of data and setup the programs in W11. Keep in mind that the speed to upload is dependent on your internet service and not the program. The software program design looks great and easy to use. Very user friendly. Anyone can use this program without any problems. PCmover Ultimate 11 moved 99% of my programs even the ones it flagged as being unsafe. I could not believe it. I held off from reviewing the product because I was expecting to get the Blue Screen of Death and lose everything. To my surprise and more than a month later all my programs run great just like they did on W10. I am SHOCKED! The functionality of Laplink PCmover is beyond amazing. This software is prefect companion for migrating any and all PC applications from one computer to another. IT IS AMAZING. It is worth the cost of this software. If I had to do it all over again, I would be more inclined to do it immediately and not wait like I did even after I found out about Laplink. This software is legit! Read more

If you have a standard transfer from one computer to another this software makes it easy. I used it twice for two different computers and it worked flawless. It moved all programs, settings etc. and the interface was easy to use and understand. I just let it run and came back when it was done. Saved me tons of time and money without taking it to a tech. I also used the free erase software to eliminate my data so I could sell the old computer. I would recommend to anyone especially if you're not technical. Read more

It works—moving both applications and data. It does this relatively quickly, with the time dependent on the size of your transfer. It is easy to use -- just follow the detailed instructions. But the move is only once and in one direction. If you want to copy to a third computer, you need to buy another license. Even if you want to move some application or data back to the original PC, you need to purchase another license. So what is its value for the money? So far as I found, there is no competition. BACKGROUND I had an 8 year old desktop that was a top of the line workhorse (dual graphics cards driving 6 screens, 64MB RAM, and multiple TB HDDs) when I purchased it. I do significant MS Office Professional use for research, writing, standards development, and have over one-hundred applications installed. Because it was originally an MS Windows 10 machine that was updated to 11-Pro over the years, it had become kludgier and slow to load applications--and developed some lock-up glitches. I purchased a new top of the line Desktop as its replacement but looked forward to the data transfer as much as I look forward to prepping for a Colonoscopy. After researching the available applications, I settled on Laplink PCmover Ultimate 11. I went ahead and purchased the high-speed USB cable to perform the process only because I have so many USB cables that have different wiring schemes I would rather not take a chance of using the wrong one. I studied the manual by reading and re-reading it. I realized that I would have to provide the codes for my MS apps, but was really hoping for a relatively painless transfer of approximately 2TB of data, apps, and settings and not having to re-customize application settings and menus. FUNCTIONALITY I believe that most folks that experience issues with the transfer process are the ones who DO NOT complete the rather robust checklist of tasks to complete prior to initiating the transfer process--and don’t pay enough attention to the specifics. There are settings and configurations that must be altered, programs (like Antivirus Apps, firewalls, backups, etc.) that must be uninstalled or disabled, and other steps that must be completed prior to starting. The list was straightforward and maybe took a couple of hours to complete. The analysis portion of the process took a couple of hours and then it produced a checklist of items it thought would go well, might go well, and wouldn’t go well at all. I found a couple of issues that I needed to take care of and then had it re-analyze. One item I found odd was that none of my MS Apps showed up – yet they transferred seamlessly, including lots of customized menus, settings, and shortcuts. The transfer process itself stated it would take about 9 hours, but it was completed in about 5 hours. VALUE Overall, I am very pleased with how well it worked. I really did not have any issues except for a Legacy multi-page bulk scanner that couldn’t handle 11Pro--and all support and software updates had previously been discontinued by the manufacturer. A good excuse for a new model. After entering many activation licenses, I was up and running without any difficulty—even odd and proprietary customized software worked like it had never been moved. I have not discovered any latent issues with the transfer. I have not had any contact with the manufacturer or received any gift, donation, credit, or money for this review. Best of all--my fear about the colonoscopy never materialized! Read more
