This is a great stand. I purchased several others (non-collapsable) thinking this would be my least favorite. But I actually found the regular stands to be too big and clunky. This stand has an additional joint which allows you to adjust the height and angle which I found very useful. The fact that it folds into a portable bag is just fantastic. Mine did come with one of the join covers missing (so I'll be getting a replacement). Read more

This stands performs very well. I use it with my iPad Pro 12.9” and it is excellent. The construction is all metal, most likely aluminum because it is light for it size. It is very flexible, yet sturdy. It rotates 360 degrees around the vertical. Likewise, it goes from 0 to 90 degrees from the horizontal. The two arms have full articulation with base and stand. These degree of flexibility provides a huge amount of positions. It goes from almost a full vertical stand to consume media to almost flat position. The intermediate positions are suitable for painting and sketching. A lower inclination works well for handwriting. When used properly, it is very stable. If located too vertical or pressed too hard, it can topple over. I use this item for sketching, PDF annotation, dictation and media consumption. So far, I had no problem with stability or the device falling in any way. The support arms are adjustable in width to accommodate different device sizes. They provide rubber pads to prevent slips. The underside of the “X” base also has rubber pads for the same function. When using it with an iPad, it will not interfere with the charging port, speakers or buttons. Also, it will not block the Apple Pencil placement and charge. This item folds down to a compact, flat shape. It comes with a resistant fabric bag for storage and protection. Thus, transporting it is super easy. This is a good quality product. I recommend it as an accessory stand for a spare tablet or laptop on your desk. The big advantage of this laptop stand over cheaper products is that this one folds up to a more compact shape so it easily fits in most brief cases or backpacks. The disadvantages are that folding/unfolding is a cumbersome process and the many joints make this stand heavier (as well as more expensive) than other stands. Once you unfold it, it does work well as a stand. All the joints are held in position by friction only and there does not appear to be any way to retighten the joints if they get too loose with use.
