This is such a helpful device! Enables me to see the screen better and more comfortable for typing. The extra stabilizers that come with it when placed on the bottom made it perfectly stable. It’s like it’s glued to the table. It’s sleek looking and well worth the money!! Read more
It is very sturdy, difficult to adjust. LAPTOP, I have to put a Clip on to hold it onto the Stand. Still like how it brings the level of sight up. Read more
This stand is seriously impressive! It’s incredibly sturdy, yet compact enough to toss into my backpack when I travel. I actually ended up buying two—one for my office and one for life on the go. The adjustable height is a major plus—it lets me customize it perfectly to my setup and comfort preferences. Highly recommend for anyone needing portability without sacrificing stability. Read more
This laptop/tablet stand is surprisingly nice. Having looked at several similar products, I was initially skeptical that one of these could reliably hold the weight of a laptop (they claim it holds up to 11 lbs). But after using the stand, I have no such doubts! I am pleased about the sturdy metal material, the stability, the soft pads on the tablet platform, and the overall look. I used the stand at a dining table while traveling, with an extra box underneath to raise it even higher, with the following devices: • 11" iPad Pro (1 lb) while typing on a wireless keyboard. • Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook (a 13", 1.5 lb detachable tablet/laptop) while typing on a wireless keyboard, or while drawing on the screen. The stand’s sturdiness and possible angles were suitable for handwriting and drawing. But one of the stand’s strengths is also its greatest weakness. The tight screws make it difficult to adjust the position of the stand. I had trouble opening it from its folded position, and I’d hate to have to wrestle with it on a regular basis (such as to change height/angle for different devices/uses, or to pack/unpack the stand for travel). Aside from the hassle, I’d worry about bending the metal in the process. While the manufacturer used user-adjustable screws (unlike other stands I’ve seen that can’t be tightened), they didn’t work well for me because: 1. the screws are somewhat obstructed by the other parts of the stand when it’s folded; 2. the Allen Key doesn’t fit as snugly in the screws as it should; 3. the screws are very tight and strip easily. The result is that it’s difficult to apply the necessary force without having the key slip out and stripping the screws in short order. I tried using a better quality and better fitting Allen Key. That helped somewhat, but there was still plenty of slipping (scratching the stand in the process), and I’m not sure that I substantially loosened the screws anyway. I’ll have to try after I get back home—where I have tools with a better grip (for better control) and ratcheting mechanism (to compensate for the tiny increments of screw movement I’m able to achieve). This one issue makes the stand less suitable for travel and more for stationary use. Suggestions to the manufacturer: 1. Ship the stand with the screws loosened. The customer could tighten them once the stand is unfolded and keep them loosened while the stand is folded. 2. Include a better fitting Allen Key so that it doesn’t slip on the screws. 3. Use screws that don’t strip as easily. 4. Or, Instead of the above, use an altogether different locking mechanism that can be easily locked/unlocked by hand—perhaps a latch or brake type mechanism like those used on caster wheels. Despite this problem, I really like and recommend this stand. My family members who saw it were also impressed and interested in buying one. Just be aware of the challenges with the screws and consider whether the stand will suit your use case; it's definitely great for stationary use, and it can be suitable for travel if you don't mind wrestling with it and/or have better tools on hand.
