Pros - AI analysis of Pictures is cute, plays music, and performs some functions via voice control. Still pictures are OK. Price is about right for what you get. Cons - Short battery life for video recording. Just about 25 minutes total before it shut down on me. No continuous recording - designed for short clip recording in either 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 3 minutes, 9 minutes, or 12 minutes, after which you need to tell it to record again - you get a beep tone when it stops recording. The video quality is marginal with the output mp4 files having a resolution of 1600x1200 officially, but looking like 800x600 or less upscaled. Dicussion: If you're looking for a cute toy for casual use and not recording anything for the long term then this is OK. You'll get a kick out of what the AI Image analysis functions tell you about the pictures you take. It reads the analysis out loud on your phone and gives you a text transcript of its findings. You have to load an app called "HeyCyan" onto your cellphone to get access to the features and functions and to download the videos or pictures you take. The cellphone app identifies content on the glasses that hasn't been downloaded to the phone yet and asks is you want to download the new content, but its slow loading for video and seems to pause a lot - requiring you to resume the downloads multiple times to complete. And if you want to view or store the video on something besides the phone, you'll have to transfer the files again from the phone to your other device like a computer or tablet. But once the stuff is on your phone it transfers pretty quickly, multiple files at one time. My original purpose in buying this was to get a decent camera to record my trips down to our local pond to feed the ducks and geese because the current head mount camera I use is getting finicky after a couple of years of use and has always felt awkward using a head band to mount it above my right ear. But this camera, officially a G2 Pro_7B62 according to the HeyCyan app, is not even close to as useful for that purpose. Battery life is way too short and you can't shoot continuous - you can only set a specific time amount for a clip, and when you hear the beep, restart the camera for another recording. My other camera has image stabilization but this one doesn't appear to have any as the resulting video clips I got were quite shaky, and seemingly less clear than what I got off my original head mount camera. Frankly. I almost gave this a lower rating based on overall quality of video and, of course, very short battery life for video recording. But what was intriguing was the AI image analysis - done via the phone using the HeyCyan app which, in turn, uses ChatGPT to provide a textual and spoken analysis of the picture content. This might actually be fun on outings and at parties as the analysis is quite in-depth on what each image contains. So, as a toy for fun rather than serious video event recording, even to the point of letting kids play with it, it's not so bad - easy to use for basic functions taking pictures or short video clips. And if you have need for a surreptitious audio recorder where it can take longer audio clips, then this is not a bad buy. Read more
