This is a VERY bright light. The electrician who installed it and set up the dimmer (essential for my purposes), questioned it because of its brightness. It is really designed to be hung high up on a ceiling (i.e., above 10 feet), but I put it in my basement (7.5 foot ceiling). That said, I love the bright light because I paint in the room and want as much light as possible. Plus, with the dimmer, I can tone it down when I want. I like the light a lot and recommend it, but be aware that it is very bright so you probably want to activate the dimming function on it. Read more

I got this because my garage has an area where light from the regular garage light doesn't quite make it. There's an "I" beam blocking the light and creates a dark area. So, I got this to see if it would light up that area. I need lots of light in my garage when I work on my car, or my hobby of redoing furniture items. It mounted very easily. The hook on top of the light fixture made it super easy to just hang on an "I" hook that I drilled into my garage ceiling. The 110 volt plug also added to the ease of installation. (I also used an outdoor remote control switch because the outlet is in the ceiling.) This made it safe and easy as the installation was no different than plugging in a regular lamp. It also comes with a safety bolt that secures the hook so it won't fall off its mooring. I was very pleased with the result. Now when I need to work on something, I just hit the remote and - voila! "Sunshine" floods the garage. However, you can adjust how bright the fixture shines. I tested the brightest setting. Now I wear sunglasses when I am working a project. Well...not really, but the light is super bright. I did not try the other settings because I need a whole lot of light when I work - and this sure did the job! The design of the lamp is very clever overall. Not only was I able to use it in a personal application, I can see that this lamp would also be ideal in a warehouse setting where several could be hung from a high ceiling - although this type of installation would require an expert like a certified electrician. I am very happy with it. The LED lighting also keeps one's electricity bill at a reasonable level. Anyone needing illumination in a small dark area, or a huge warehouse should check this out for easy, inexpensive installation and a lot of light. Highly recommended. Read more

I can't attest to how this product works in as home, because when I unpacked it, plugged it in, it blew my breaker. I then realized that it was my fault for not seeing that this is a variable wattage and that my old house doesn't have breakers that can support this. It would be great in a shop, a barn, or someplace that needs that much light. But it is very well built and adjustable. For the right location, this would be a wonderful light. Make sure you know what power it consumes. Read more

The first picture doesn't do this light justice. It was so bright my lens had to adjust massively. It pulled 198W/2.56A so expect around that amount. These lights due get hot but come with massive metal heatsinks as the body of them and thus keep them running cool for the amount of blazing light they can provide. 4 UFO lights in a 1200ft shop lit up the entire shop better than the long LED tube like lights that we were using and use LESS electricity. 1 tube led light 8ft long uses 107W/1A of electricity and doesn't even compare to the power and light this light puts out. It is by far the most efficient of the two types. So while there are lights in the NJ skylines (at this point in time) you can have your own UFO lights in your shop, garage, or even outside. They can be mounted using the hook (sealed or open ended) with a security screw on it's hook, but comes with also the steel cable and carabiner to either another secure point or around a 2 by 4 (2x6 too thick for the length of the steel cable) and clipped to itself. Further you can buy mounting attachments for these types of lights and secure them even more. Myself I hung things up with the main hook, and then the security cable to another eye hook. Chances of both failing doubtful. This one light made up for 6 8ft tube led lights I had been using, and gives more coverage and brightness than all of them put together while using 1/3 the amps, and less than half the wattage. Definitely worth the price and I wished I had known about a UFO light before (if they existed) I had installed the others, but either way I now use UFO lights in the Shop and the Lab. Read more
