This feels like an industrial light and is bright enough for commercial use. It is heavy, made of metal and has an independent led driver. It did not get very hot after extended use. The light beam angle is wide, you could space them out without fear of dark spots but if spaced too far apart and you would have shadow issues, as with any light. The power cord is about 6 feet long with stranded leads, one for load, neutral, and ground. The dim control wires are only 6 inches long, pre-stripped with replaceable covers, I would have given it 5 stars if they were longer. I tested the dimming capability with a random potentiometer I had lying around and it dimmed nicely. The rated output is pretty accurate. With a supply voltage of 123vac and selecting 150w on the light, the power consumption when set to 5000k was 1.21amps (148.8 watts), the 4000k setting consumed 1.14amps (140.2 watts), and 3000k consumed 1.23amps (151.3 watts). The hook on the top can be removed if needed, it's a metric thread size I did not measure. This one costs a little more than similar light and think you the price difference is in the wet location LED driver unit. I feel this is a decent value for the money. I would recommend this for commercial use. Read more

That is the single brightest light I have ever seen, up close and personal. Oh yes, stadium lights are obviously brighter, but WOW (again), for the size, and the fact that it is a consumer light, THAT THING IS BRIGHT!!! I have really got nothing negative to say, even though you have to do a little "putting together" prior to use. AND, the parts you may need do not come with it. But that is clearly by intent. They simply supply you with an incredible light which can be used in a variety of ways. If they were to put in all the possible parts you could use for the various set-ups you could create, the light would come close to double the cost. The light comes with two sets of stripped wires: The larger set of three wires is clearly for electricity. You could use these ends directly and hard wire it in to your setup, or you can get a plug to mount onto the stripped wires. For my purpose, I bought a "Bergen Industries Inc PS615143 3-Wire Appliance and Power Tool Cord, 6 ft, 14 AWG, 15A/125V AC, 1875w , Black" The second, smaller pair of wires is for the dimmer switch, which IS NOT needed. Without a dimmer switch, the light turns on to full brightness (almost blinding) the moment you plug it in. For the dimmer switch, I bought a "Bonlux 0-10v Dimmer Knob DC 0-10v Dimmer Switch for LED Lights Mini Controller Rotary Switch Low Voltage PWM Dimming 1-10V Dimmer Switch for LED Shop Light". It is a "Direct Current" thing so the wires have to be wired in the proper direction or the light will not turn on at all. If you choose wrongly, simply reverse the wires and the light will be dimmable from nil to full brightness. Somebody was thinking when they designed this light because they added a steel cable safety line. I recommend using that since the light is heavy. This light is amazing and in my opinion, the price is far less than the value/quality of the lamp. Read more

Nice, bright light. This is what the garage/shop needed. I have a few LED lights scattered around over work benches and tools, but this, hung up high (16') in the middle of the room works perfectly to keep the place lit. The hardest thing about installation... moving the stuff on the floor out of the way so I could set up the ladder. Seriously. I put in a screw eye and hooked the light to it. I clipped the safety cable on as well. I ran 12/2 from a light switch up to the light. After the j-box was in place I stuffed the 12/2 in from one side and the cord from the light in the other side. Wire strippers and wire nuts, and you're done! The light temp is switchable, so you can go warm or cool, and there are three output settings. There are wires for a dimmer, but I don't have one. I set the light to 5000K and 150W. If I want to change it, out comes the ladder... there is a little rubber plug that covers the temp and watt switches. It is on the light itself. I'm happy with the settings and being able to see into the far corners of the garage without a flashlight. The light is easy to set up, bright, and gives off good light. Read more

I know a lot of people when reviewing these lights get into really technical stuff regarding accurate color temperature, etc., but for me it's just as simple as "are they a big improvement over the old tube lighting I had" and that's a resounding "heck yeah!" I evaluated several versions of these "UFO" style lights and was pleased with all. As mentioned, I used them to replace old fluorescent fixtures that did not give the best light and often were problematic in the cold. These things are instant on and are awesome. One thing that must be considered though is you should have a relatively high ceiling and should deploy multiple for full light saturation. If these are installed too low (within range of vision) people will end up looking at them and oh boy are they bright. I am very pleased moving from fluorescent to this style light and when I move from a work area where these are installed to one that still has the old school lighting it's like going from a sunny day into a dark room, which means I'll be deploying more in the future. The only thing that is yet unknown is if I will be saving on electricity or paying more. Read more
