I’ve been using this horticultural charcoal in my chunky soil mix, and it’s fantastic. The pieces are clean, lightweight, and mix in easily with coco chips, perlite, and other amendments. It really helps improve drainage while also keeping the soil airy. I love adding charcoal because it also helps absorb impurities and odors in the soil, which is great for overall root health. My plants seem to be very happy with the mix, and it’s become one of my go-to additives whenever I’m repotting. ✅ Why I love it: -Clean, quality charcoal with no debris -Helps improve drainage & aeration -Absorbs impurities and odors in the soil -Easy to mix into chunky soil blends -Great for aroids, orchids, and other houseplants ⚠️ Cons: -None so far — it’s exactly what I needed Overall, this is an excellent soil amendment and pairs perfectly with coco chips and perlite for healthy, happy plants. I’ll definitely keep it stocked for all my repotting projects. 🌱 Read more

I've been using this Legigo horticultural charcoal as a bottom layer in my terrariums, and it's made a noticeable difference in keeping them healthy. The charcoal pieces are a great size (not too chunky or too fine), making it easy to create a breathable layer that promotes good drainage and helps prevent root rot. One of the things I really appreciate is how lightweight and clean the charcoal is—it doesn't have a lot of dust, and it's easy to work with. It absorbs excess moisture well, which is essential in closed terrariums, and it helps control odors and improve air circulation around the roots. I've also used it mixed into soil for orchids and succulents with great results. It keeps the potting mix from compacting and supports healthy root growth. The 4-quart bag goes a long way and is a great value for the price. If you're into terrariums, orchids, or any plants that need excellent drainage and airflow, this charcoal is a must-have. I’ll definitely keep this stocked for all my potting projects! Read more

I purchase a couple bags of this to use when I replanted my snake plants. Supposed to be good for the plant AND eliminate mold. Works great and my snake plants seem to love it. Larger pieces than some brands. Works well mixed into soil, to “sweeten” it for leafy plants, cacti, succulents. Also use it under pots sitting in larger/decorative pots without drainage. Read more
