I wish the new Macbooks provided all the ports they used to, but they don't. This requires adaptors into their thunderbolt/usb4 ports in order to be able to use conventional usb flash drives, camera cards, et al. I really like the LENTION C Hub for this purpose. Simple, enough options for most users, effective, well-priced, a quality feel to it, lightweight, gets the job done. A no brainer choice and I would recommend it. Read more

When I bought my new MacBook Pro, I realized that I needed an adapter from the laptop (USB-C) to all my other devices. NOTE: THIS IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH APPLE SUPERDRIVE! However, it works like a champ for all my other devices (backup, charging, etc.). I love the multi-port feature which really came in handy recently, as I scampered to charge multiple devices at once. Customer service is also super-responsive, proactively reaching out to me, asking about my experience. Beyond, beyond generous! I'm taking a serious look at their other offerings, because having enthusiastic customer service in the tech world is rare, indeed. Read more

I plugged the LENTION USB C Hub into my Surface Go, I connected one USB for the mouse, one portable drive of 1 TB SSD, one USB 32 GB flash drive and a mini SD card which also arrived today. The mini SD card 256GB had a 4-minute video recorded on my GoPro, which was easy to transfer to a file on my 1TB portable drive. To keep trying the multi USB capacity, I transfer the video and pics again from the 1 TB to the 32 GB flash drive and did it in a heartbeat! I am happy with the performance! Very finicky. Only works when plugged in in one direction--ie not symmetrical. I marked the side it plugs in on correctly. Most products with this type of port work flipped as well.... Even when I plug this in properly, I still have to wiggle it a bunch of times for the lights to come on. It's now been a few months and it only reads SD cards 30% of the time and only 2 of the 3 usb ports work (fine bc I only need 2, but this stinks). I was super frustrated and came to write a review and saw everyone talking about wifi issues. I've been having TONS of wifi issues the past few months!! I never suspected it was this dock!!! now unplugged, wifi is fine. So I docked another star bc it is not only a sub par dock, it breaks other things... If it wasn't so late, i'd try to get a refund. :( ------ UPDATE------ Lention reached out to send me a new version of their hub with this corrected. The new product arrived in a newly designed box that kept it safe and protected during travel.I could already tell this version had been improved in various ways. It does not rattle like my previous one. With use it doe snot appear to be causing the wifi issues anymore and all the ports are working both when device is flipped or logo side up, as it should. Though it is brand new at the moment, so I cannot comment on when the ports may fail, but so far so good. I replaced a more expensive version from another company that failed completely at 6 months. It never worked correctly. I say the above to preface that this is a preliminary review. However, so far, the connection is awesome. I can even work on my lap and move it around and it does not lose the connection. I work for hours with it and it only gets mildly warm at most. I would prefer if the SD card port took the SD card in deeper and had a push eject, because my SD card would feel more protected. As a professional photographer I am often uploading 64gb SD's to my hard drives which takes a bit of time, and not always in the most stable environments. It would also be awesome if one of the 3 usb ports were on the other side, to accommodate using all ports at once for non-standard shaped usb drives (I have a family guy stewie and ironman and r2d2 etc for personal items lol). The connecting cable feels strong. The USB-C connection to the mac feels super snug! All the ports feel snug and secure. Transfers happen VERY fast--very exciting. The aesthetics of this device are lovely. IT perfectly matches my new mac, so cute. The end caps are a white plastic, which look cute--but again I travel so I worry that they will become grimy over time or break. It is super lightweight, which is awesome, because the rest of my camera gear that I already have to pack and travel with is so bulky and heavy. This USB-C hub extension is perfect! I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro with a touchbar. I was baffled at the fact that there were no USB ports or even an SD card reader, since I was so used to my older MacBook having them. At the Apple Store they told me I could purchase a USB-C adapter for $65 - it only came with one USB connection, HDMI and another USB-C port. Um, no thank you. I thought that was absolutely ridiculous and decided to go without one, because I knew Amazon had to have a better price and product. Low and behold, this was the product with a better price! I LOVE that it comes with THREE USB ports and a card reader. It's exactly what I need and the price is wonderful! It's compact as well, so it fits perfectly in my laptop bag.
