Leo’s Paw is a great product. Our 20 year old Tabby cat never tolerated any kind of brushing. But this product he seems to enjoy. To be clear it does not clean up fur like say “The Furminator” but does clear up matted fur and clean up his coat well. It does not seem to irritate the skin in any way like other products do. This product was a Godsend for us. I would recommend this product. Read more
imo this is not a very good deshedding tool. I used it on my longhaired cat who hasn't been brushed in a while because I lost her brush, and it just does not pull much fluff off of her or seem to have that softening effect on her that I would expect a good deshedding tool to have. On the other hand, it's very gentle on her and she fell in love with it immediately and demanded I keep using it. So, like, maybe it's not efficient per brush stroke, but if I'm able to use it on her more, maybe that evens out or even is a net gain. Read more
Perfect for getting cats to like brushing. Some of my cats act like I'm coming at them with a knife when I approach holding a brush. I can hold it in a way that they don't think I'm coming at them with an object in my hand. The bristles are plastic and are flexible, so it feels like you're gently giving them scratches without it being uncomfortable. Most rub on the brush and raise their backs into the brush as I'm using it. They're purring, circling and enjoying the attention. I was able to pick up the slicker brush and brush them after using this for a little while. It takes out more loose hair than I would have expected for it's design. It only removes loose hair in the upper layers, it doesn't detangle or deshed, so you will still need a slicker brush for deep brushing. I have long and short haired cats, and one Devon Rex (with a single very short coat), and they all enjoyed it. I'm an RVT and I think this would be a good thing to have at the vet to pet nervous kitties with it to help them relax. It's overpriced in my opinion (shouldn't be more than $5), but getting a nervous cat to accept brushing is worth paying a little more. Read more
I got this little brush simply because one of my cats name is Leo and I thought it was cute. But let me tell you, this is the best cat brush ever!!! I have two Ragdoll cats with medium/long length hair and they absolutely love this brush. It detangles their hair and removes all loose hair without being too rough on their skin. I take this brush out and they come running over to me. IT IS AMAZING! People were recommending the metal combs for cats to me but those combs hale in comparison to Leo’s comb!!! This is THE comb for the soft silky hair of our Birman. It's coated and curved so it follows the contours of the body and doesn't catch or pull - yet it removes a LOT of the loose hairs. It's an amazing value that passes the cat test with flying colors! We now use it exclusively as it outperforms other larger more expensive combs hands down. Highly recommended. (and so cute too!)
