Hard to beat this pair of lights, especially for the price. They are ‘light’ lights…which really fit my needs well because they are super easy to mount and having a wired solar panel for optimal charging is necessary. Both units work as stated, really just a plug and play and as simple as it gets with this type lights. I’ve had other models with all kinds of settings and the problem with them has been with either the photo sensor or the motion sensor - so to me the simpler the better and these lights are exactly that. You get two lights for the price of what most cost individually. What’s nice about that is that you can choose to set the lights on two sides of any structure for a more comfortable lighting area. These are smaller than the heavier and larger solar flares that are on the market, which I also prefer. They are more discreet and put out enough light for ease of movement without looking like you activated a criminal interrogation. If you need the solar flare variety for security reasons then you probably want to keep looking. But if you’re looking for residential use, affordability and simple functionality then these are great. Read more
I ordered these almost a year ago and recently the lights wouldn't turn on. I contacted their customer support through their website and within an hour they had already responded to me about sending a replacement. I received my replacement in less than 2 days. The lights are great! Easy to install and when they were working they were bright and worked very well. I highly recommend these lights not only for performance, but for their amazing customer support! Read more
I have had these lights up now for 9 months. They are bright enough for my uses over the door to my shed. The only complaint I have, hence the 4 star review, is they need a sensitivity adjustment. As soon as the sun goes down and it's dark enough for them to come on, they come on constantly. I have adjusted the motion sensor up and down several times with the same result. Thankfully, they are not a bother to my neighbors but when we are watching TV at night we can see the light constantly going on and off. Read more
I love these so much that I have sent them to two different people to install on their houses. Having the charging pad separate from the lights is GENIUS. This enables the lights to be installed in odd places as needed. At my rental property, I have them mounted in trees to illuminate the parking area. But under a tree wouldn’t enable enough sunlight to reach them and recharge them. These wonderful things solved that issue by connecting the charging pad to the lights with a really long cord, enabling me to place the pad in a completely different part of the tree that can receive enough sunlight during the day. Thank you for making my security solution so easy! Now my parking area lights up like the sun every time someone enters the area. I installed 3 units in different locations, and the sense of improved security in that urban location is tangible. They are seriously bright. Studies and statistics clearly indicate that a well-lit building or parking area is less likely to be targeted in property crimes, and a bonus is that everyone is safer when walking to and from their vehicles in a well-lit area. It’s the cheapest and lowest-maintenance form of security available, and it WORKS. Read more
Good quality. Easy to install. Lights come one right away upon movement when its almost dusk which is exactly what I wanted. The 3 light system illuminates the entire front porch and stays on long enough to get my front door opened. I do wish these types of lights would stay on for maybe a full minute instead of the 15 to 20 seconds but I have yet to find a set that does. Otherwise they are nice and bright. Read more
Both of mine stopped working yesterday. Possibly heat related as it was 96 degrees yesterday in Dallas, Georgia. The batteries are not replaceable so can't check them. Have had them in use for five months. In the daytime they will work for a couple of seconds if the solar panel is connected. Without the solar panel in the daytime they do nothing. No light at night regardless. Suspect battery either overheated or overcharged. Again, it is a sealed case so no battery access. Update- Got hold of customer service and she was very nice and sending a replacement. I fully expect the new ones to die in the same 4 to 5 month period. I did cut one of them open to get to the battery which is in a holder just like any other battery. The voltage on the button top 1800 mah was 0, dead. I replaced it with a 3000 mah battery I had on hand and the light works now. Why they do not give you access to the battery is beyond me as is the 1800 mah battery (kinda low on power). I also tested the open circuit voltage from the panel and it puts out 7.0 volts. We are older and seldom venture out at night so the light comes on very seldom. I suspect that the high state of charge over an extended period may have contributed to its demise. A dim function might have helped it to live longer as they battery would not have been at a constant high state of charge. Update- I did contact the company and they were very nice and sent me another set of lights however they are not the same as the solar panel is attached to the light and not separate as the ones I purchased were. The lights are under an eve while the panel is attached to the facia. Thus the replacements will not work. At this point I give up and will purchase elsewhere. They did recognize that they had a lot of lights failing. Makes one wonder why they are still being sold. Read more
