comfortable and protective

I’ve used the standard large shoulder pads as knee pads for ice skating for three years with knee braces to secure them. They conform to my knees very well with no rough or hard edges. (I’m a petite woman.) They protect my knees quite well. If I have a hard fall, occasionally I do get some slight bruises, but it has happened only a handful of times. The pads have developed some dark spots on the inside surface. They don’t look like mold but I can’t remove them with soap and scrubbing. I wish there were holes on these pads as I always get quite sweaty even in my knees. I put a piece of absorbent cloth between the pad and my knee, and it’s always quite damp by the time I finish skating. Overall, I still like these pads. They are ce2, and with gradual thickness on the edges and the material they are comfortable and protective. If one look closely, s/he can see a slight bump on my knees, but the bump is not too bad. I’ll continue to use them until I find another ce2 ads that share all the pros of these pads plus venting holes. If the pads are a bit thinner and have venting holes, they would be perfect. Read more
