I got this yesterday. It works fine. Setup was ok. At first when I plugged it in, I was having problems turning it on and viewing it on the TV, But it worked eventually. Everything is ok now. Setup wasn’t too bad. I had to download the apps we use. It didn’t take too long, although I feel they should have been on there already and included and NOT have to download anything. Well anyways I did it. It’s ok. I’m still giving this 5 stars. It’s not a big DVD player, for which I like the size of it. Overall… for the money it’s ok. I hope it lasts a while, unlike the other DVD players I’ve bought, which were Sony and Samsung. I’m trying LG out now. I keep buying DVD players and it’s ridiculous! They keep going out on us. Anyways… I highly recommend this for the money. It was a good price and I got a discount too. Same day delivery. I was happy with that. That’s what I was looking for… something NOW and immediate. This is a decent DVD player. The picture quality is good. But I noticed that if you try to fast forward or rewind there are 3 speeds and the highest speed is not super fast. I hope this one lasts because I just replaced my last one which I had for about 10-12 years. This one is more compact and small. That’s ok as long as the quality is there. It’s hard to tell. It works good so far. The one concern I have is the remote. It’s flimsy and cheap quality. There is an LG app you can use on your phone to control the DVD player. The reviews are not great for the app, but so far it has been working fine. I am using that to get some longevity from the physical remote. I am satisfied so far, but I’m questioning the lifespan of this product. Read more

Nice picture even on regular dvds!! Pretty easy to use. Don't take up much space. Hdmi cable included. Make sure you have WiFi network, internet. It will kinda work with piggy backing with a close network but it loses it alot and you have to do the process all over again. You can install vudu, Netflix, YouTube, Amazon shopping, PayPal (I believe) and other stuff . For the price you pay, I was satisfied. Read more
I bought this because I had several different Blueray DVD's, but mostly for the "smart" features. I wanted the ability to stream shows and videos from Netflix or Amazon Prime video. It takes an exceptionally long time to set up with the home WiFi system, and longer still with the online platforms. Entering in the user ID's and passwords is slow due to only having an onscreen keyboard where you use the arrow keys to select and enter characters. It would be so much better it the remote had a keyboard builtin, or the device would allow a connection to a wired or wireless keyboard. Once I got the online accounts set up, it took FOREVER to actually play a movie from a streaming service - I'm talking 20 minutes or more to download? and play the movie. Nothing like what my smart TV in a different room takes to play the same exact movie (where it takes literally seconds to start playing). At first I thought it was a problem with the device received, so I had returned it and had it replaced. But the 2nd device had the exact or very similar issues. I am positive the product is at fault as I have incredibly fast internet/WiFi speeds , (2 GB fiber optic) and I do not experience this exceptionally slow/delayed service on other devices - smart TV's, laptop computers and phones/tablets. On both devices I attempted streaming a video from Netflix or Amazon Prime video, I was the only person in the house. The only devices on (powered up) and connected to the WiFi were the LG DVD player, my mobile phone and my smart thermostats. I verified this by checking the current connections to the WiFi. The product works well for playing DVD's (regular or Blueray), but is absolutely abysmal with the smart features. I returned the 2nd device as well and will not try again with this brand or model. I watch both DVD and Blu-Ray on this device. I purchase it on February 10 with delivery on the 12th. It worked great until I put in a Blur-Ray disc this morning . It no longer plays any Blu-Ray discs but plays my plain DVDs fine. I am very disappointed with this device. I ordered another one this morning and will try it again. I am finding that any DVD player I purchase is merely a throw away. They have no lasting value. I will in independent living and watching my movies gives me something to do. Purchased this for a TV that is not a smart tv and is not connect to cable/streaming etc. I use this in my work out room and play DVD movies only. This was easy to connect to an older TV but has HDMI and it works great! Read more
