I knew I couldn’t go wrong with the Libbey brand. My grandmother had glasses from Libbey that lasted at least 35 to 40 years, and from the first look and feel of these, I knew I was right to trust them. This is an outstanding set of highball glasses. The moment you take them out of the box, you can tell they’re built to last... not the kind of drinking glasses you have to baby. They’re thick, sturdy, and have a nice weight to them... each weighing 17.75 ounces. I love the clean look paired with the simple, faceted design at the bottom. The thick base adds to their stability, so you never feel like you’re about to tip your drink over. They manage to look both modern and retro at the same time. There were absolutely no bubbles or ridges anywhere on the glasses, which you sometimes see with lesser quality brands. The rims were perfectly smooth and uniform on every single one. These glasses are slim line and smooth in hand. The glass is clear, and there is enough weight that they don’t feel flimsy, but they are small enough that they don’t feel too heavy. These are just a bit less in capacity than a standard water bottle (13 ounces vs 16 ounces) so it’s great for lunch or things you don’t want a ton of like kombucha. This is a great set of highball glasses. I love the design on these glasses. You know when you pick one of these up that they are going to be around for a while with their sturdy and thick bottom. They are heavy and feel comfortable in your hand. The glasses look much more expensive than they cost. The description says they are retro or modern which I can definitely see. But either way, I think they have an elegant look to them and I would use them for special occasions rather than every day use. These glasses are lead free, which is a major positive as is the fact that they are dishwasher safe. No more having to wash all of my better glassware after a special occasion. Libbey is a brand that I trust and have used for years. It was great to see the way they were packed without the use of Styrofoam and they arrived without any chips, cracks or damage.
