Well-made Thick but Tapered Glasses
First the positives. These are thick, clear glasses with good weight. Now the negatives. They are not perfectly cylindrical as Libbey's customer rep stated. The rep said the photos are inaccurate. Turns out, they are accurate. Photos show a glass that is tapered. When I received them, they are indeed tapered, just as pictured in the photos. The mouth is about 2.5" and the bottom is about 2". So basically a giant shot glass. And I HATE tapered glasses. So my lifelong search for standard cylindrical glass cups that are not too tall and not too short continues. Such a simple design but so frustratingly hard to find. These would've been fine if they weren't tapered. I had to return them for this and another reason. That other reason was my package arrived with a missing cup. Strange. It's like somebody took one out thinking I wouldn't notice. Anyway, Amazon was nice enough to refund the purchase and allow me to keep it. But I'm not sure what I'll do with 23 glass cups. Read more
