I see a lot of bad reviews about this heater but I have not seen anything to raise my alarm about. I left it running and it was heating, I picked it up and shook it and it turned off. That tells me it has tip over protection. I set the thermostat to 70 and it ran for a min then kicked off, so the thermostat works. I left it running for 4 hours now and I checked them temp on the plug and its a cool ambient 68. Running any space heater is not as safe as using central heat but as long as you make sure you dont overload your circuit(too many devices drawing on a single breaker), your outlets arent loose(cause a loose outlet will cause poor connection and a poor connection increases the resistance and heat, thats why you see melted plugs. Replace your old worn out outlets). I been testing the temperature of the casing to see if it gets hot or trigger over temp protection but so far it is cool to the touch. Plus if you search the internet the lifesmart brand is also the same as the lifepro brand. So I dont think its a knockoff or a fake. Its the same manufacturer. Read more

It’s a good heater and puts out a lot of heat. However it appears the heater that was sent to me may have been a returned item which makes me nervous. I tried to return it but it said I wasn’t aloud to which is odd I’ve only had it 3 days. I’m just nervous that it’s not 100% new. Why was it returned in the first place. I've had two LifeSmart infrared heaters. Both had the brand name -- LifeSmart -- on the front of the heater. There's a blank black sticker where the LifeSmart brand name should be on this unit. The materials included say it's a LifePro heater -- but nowhere do they say LifeSmart. This unit is also louder than the LifeSmart heaters I've had. Returning. Read more

Absolutely perfect for my needs. I'm retired and spend quite a bit of time sitting in my living room reading and watching TV. I live in an area where it's been at the freezing point and the house can get very cold. I've been using a combination of a ceramic space heater and a heat pump for the large room. That can be expensive. I've found that all I need is warmth on my legs to be comfortable. Bottom line, I no longer have to alternate between the heat pump and ceramic space heater but can use my new heater to stay warm. The heater is made of quality material and is engineered well. The image shown on this model is misleading. The display for this unit only shows the set temperature and power on. The temp adjustments function but the mode does not display. So you must guess. I contacted the manufacturer technical support and was advised about this. The manual provided is generic for all the products. It heats well so I will keep it. The remote works well but still no display. Read more
