But I returned them because not only were the soles wider, but the calf also was significantly wider too in the 8.5 wide and wouldn't stay UP on my leg. BUT I re-ordered them in 8.5 medium and that was fine. Except for a few things. The insoles in them (I thought) felt too slippery and unsupportive so I swapped them out for my own clark shoe insole from some old clark boots I had. MUCH better. Then I pulled and stretched the tips of the toes out a bit (you can on these shoes) because there is a type of cardboard liner embedding in the toe that was hurting me. Fixed that. They are very lightweight and stretchy and mostly comfortable. I think the heel though is set a tad too far back though / hard to describe. It's a slight falling forward feeling going on. To remedy THAT, I added piece of black sole replacements to the fronts (under) each foot. That solved that by raising the front of the foot just a bit. SO.....it's definately not out of the box great here, but if you're creative and persistent you might be able to make them work for you like I did. This is NOT a winter boot! Only an early to late FALL boot due to the fabric material they are made out of...and don't wear them in the rain unless you scotch Guard them (like I did). Whew! BUT i love the style and the heel wasn't too high and they are soft. I wear a 38 in Clarks or Danskos and an 8.5 med in all running shoes. I have a bunion and they don't hurt that. I had bought these boots originally at Macy’s and found some online I bought multiple pairs for my daughter and my best friend. They are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. I have the tan black and brown and I get so many compliments on all of them when I wear them perfect with jeans dresses . Standing in them for hours, cooking during the holidays and walking through the mall was a breeze. The toebox is super comfy and roomie great with leggings. The material and heel is well made. I wish they had more colors I would buy more. I am looking for the low version boot in this brand as comfort wives. You can’t beat it for the price true to size.! Read more
