Very very nice toy. Granddaughter loved it. The quality and price were very good. Nice amount of templates. There are a lot of spaces to poke before you finish a whole template but that was fine with me because then I got a chance to do it together with my granddaughter. Must say I enjoyed doing it, brought back childhood memories. Have to say punching the pegs in was easy. After completing the template, it was so colorful and bright. I would definitely buy again and recommend. It would make a great gift for a 5 year old and up. Read more
The media could not be loaded. I had the HUGE Lite-Brite with the full-sized lightbulb when I was a kid. Remember how hot that used to get? Memories, lol! We used to LOVE playing with our Lite-Brite. I was thinking of those memories and looked on Amazon on a whim, in hopes to share those memories with my teen. I was so excited to see this Disney version, since we are a huge Disney family. This new version of the Lite-Brite did not disappoint! It was so fun to do together as a family. The pictures are super cool and the colors are beautiful! The lighting aspect doesn't appear that bold when you are in a bright space but take it in the dark and you will see how truly strong the lighting is, with four different light modes to choose from. It is also much more compact than the version we had as kids, which is a huge plus. The only comment I would make is that there are exactly enough pegs to complete a picture, not really any extras, so be careful not to lose any pegs. Also, I would suggest that if you are able, make color copies of the Disney paper inserts, because once you poke the holes and complete a picture, you will not be able to redo that particular picture again. If you have copies, you will be able to enjoy doing the pictures again and again. UPDATE - I had someone ask which characters came with this Lite Brite, which I thought would be a good thing to include in my review. I have attached a photo of the back of the box so that you can see the templates of which characters are actually included. They are Mickey, Minnie, Dumbo, Cinderella, Goofy, Donald, Woody & Buzz, Ariel, Pluto, Simba, Tinkerbell, and a Disney castle template. 2ND UPDATE - For those that asked the size of the pictures, they are 8” wide x 7” high. Absolutely love it! I put my first sheet design together and it took me roughly an hour and a half (the colors were mixed up so I had to separate them). I looked at other people’s reviews and some seem more like user error (based on my personal experience). Such as thinking it doesn’t work when in fact it’s because they used it incorrectly. Not everyone, just a few. But all in all I love it and it was fun to do. Yes my fingers got a little tired and sore but the little tool they provided is nice if you don’t mind taking a little extra time to use it. I used it here and there but it wasn’t so bad for me that I needed it. I had an older model back in the 90s and I can easy say this has definitely made my little kid heart happy. I highly recommend!
