I purchased the Logitech C920e HD Webcam and Litra Glow LED Streaming Light to improve the quality of my video calls and streaming sessions. I needed a reliable setup for professional use. I recently purchased a Logitech C920e HD Mic-Enabled Webcam to go with a new ASUS desktop computer running Windows 11... I was having compatibility problems with my old Logitech webcam, so I decided to treat myself to a new Logitech webcam... After some research, I landed on the Logitech C920e HD Webcam, as it fulfilled all my requirements and more... After browsing for one at several electronics stores, I ended up ordering one from Amazon due to the stores asking price of $120 versus Amazon's $62 dollars - a 50% savings...!!! It works great and is easy to install - very user-friendly - even for someone like me, who's unfamiliar/unskilled with most things technical...!!! In doing my research, I learned of the Logitech C920e Webcam's numerous functions and features - (1) 2 microphones in stereo, instead of one, so there's no need for an external microphone... (2) A nice, snap-on privacy shutter/lid that provides you with privacy when you want it... (3) A blue indicator-light lets you know when it's on and operating... (3) A tripod mount for a 1/4"-20 or a 3/8"-16 screw gives you added versatility/portability... (4) A built-in motion sensor allows you to use it as a security camera... I bought this to replace an older Logitech C930e that I've been using for the past six years. This C920e is better in most ways, but worse in one. I initially bought the C930e because of the wide angle lens, but quickly realized that 1) it just showed a bunch of distracting stuff in the background of my office, and 2) it slightly distorted everything, as wide angle lenses tend to do. I am loathe to replace something that isn't broken, but considering the number of hours I spend in video meetings each day - and that these meetings have largely replaced in-person time with my customers - I finally decided to "upgrade" to a camera with a standard field-of-view so I would look more normal on-screen. I use the quotes because technically the C920e is a downgrade from the C930e, but things have improved so much since I bought the old C930e that the current C920e indeed turned out to be an upgrade. The picture quality is MUCH better - tremendously sharper, and with better color balance. It's more than what I need, but is well worth the price. (And, as expected, the field-of-view is better suited to a single person seated at a desk.) Like it's predecessor, this camera includes a physical cover to block the lens when not in use. This was a must-have for me, and it works great. It was a bit stiff at first, such that I'd knock the camera out of alignment when flipping the cover open, but a drop of WD-40 fixed that. I haven't tried the microphones, and probably won't. Audio quality is more important to me than video quality, so I use a headset with a good mic. My only complaint is that the cord on the C920e is about a foot shorter than the old C930e. My computer and monitor are right next to each other, and the cord still barely reaches. This camera wasn't expensive, but neither was it cheap. I wish Logitech spent the extra dime to keep the original length cord. Minus one star for the cord, but otherwise an excellent personal videoconferencing camera at a fair price. I recommend. Read more
