The bag is not as big as the pictures make it seem, but it is still really big, and TONS of pockets and space! It fits my 15 inch work laptop with no problems, and there still enough space that I could stick a tablet in there as well. Also, because this is a problem I've had with other bags: THE BOTTOM IS STURDY ENOUGH THAT THE BAG STANDS ON ITS OWN. 🥳 The material is a type of water resistant style polyester, but it's very sturdy, looks like designer quality material and I've gotten lots of compliments after only a few days of use! Honestly, this is one of the nicer 'teacher' branded bags I've seen, and I would definitely recommend to anyone that's looking for a new bag! Bought this for a trip to India and it did not disappoint! I was drawn to it because it could hold my 40oz Frost Buddy and the decent price, the rest was just as good. It rides well on the handle of my suitcase and it fit well under the seat on the plane as a personal item. I wouldn’t recommend a larger one or you would have less than desired foot room and possibly not fit under some plane seats. It held up well through my many flights and multiple security checks. The ease of removing my laptop and cords for security made this very practical. I did over pack and overstuff it. I was afraid I’d break a zipper or pull the stitching, but it held up great with no damage. I did end up storing my tumbler in my suitcase after the first flight, it was just too much to worry about my straw getting touched and such. The slot holds cans or even Pringles nicely!lol IF I had to give a suggestion, I’d wish that it also had a shoulder strap capability for ease of carrying when not traveling. This is one of the nicest purses that I have ever bought from Amazon! I was very weary because I have purchased many purses from Amazon and they have been smaller than expected. This purse far exceeded my expectation! It is large and roomy, it has many zippers for the many pouches, the color of the purse is beautiful, and did I say it is very roomy?
