Both the Lundberg organic basmati and short grain brown rice are the best brown rice I have ever eaten. Yes they are expensive but free of pesticides and absolutely delicious. You cannot buy better brown rice. Addendum 8/12/25. I have seen folks complaining about the price and it does cost about 4x regular brown rice. However, the actual cost per meal is small and there is no other rice you can buy free of pesticides and forever chemicals. Read more
I purchased this for the health benefits. Cooks nicely and quality is good. AA++ Read more
Delicious, fragrant fresh crop. It doesn’t look like the basmati (very long grained) I’ve seen before but it is very good. Is it mislabeled? Read more
While I was pleased to find and try this US grown alternative to buying Indian Brown Basmati rice, the pricing of both the Organic and Sustainable Lundberg Brown Basmati Rice products are just not affordable for the long haul. Even the attempts to bundle 2-6 2# bags are laughable in that they provide no relief in cost for buying a higher volume. These bundles are actually more per pound. Pricing is what kept me from rating a 5 Star. While I saw some sites offering 25# bags of Lundberg rice that might work for a commercial environment, you should really offer some sort of more affordable bulk pricing that would work for families that would consume a fair amount of your product. Your Indian Basmati rice competitors make 3#, 5# and 10# available at much more affordable pricing than their sing # pricing. Not that you would need to meet their pricing, but if you want to increase your normal consumer usage you need to get more competitive in your pricing. Read more

Rice grown in California (like this brand) is very low in arsenic. Rice grown in fields that previously grew cotton are very high in arsenic. The worst arsenic soil levels in the USA are fields in Texas and Arkansas, but it's bad in the entire south/east USA also. You see, arsenic was an ingredient in pesticides/herbicides used on cotton crops in the last century. The arsenic remains in the soil and rice plants suck it up and deposit it in the rice grains. This is definitely not basmati rice. It is very good tasting but expect sticky outcome. It takes less than usual water to cook. Read more
