This is true luxury soap. I’d been using Pecksniff brand for a while—this makes that look like K-Mart Blue Light Special soap. I’m not gonna lie, I’d half considered refilling this with Softsoap or whatever other budget brand after I ran out. Now, I’m not so sure. In an era of fatal viruses, this definitely does its job of getting a decent lather. Which is something a lot of hand soaps fail at for some reason. It also has a decadent, but not overly gendered scent. It’s not exactly cedar and tobacco, but it’s not lily and cucumber or anything like that. I’m sure it’d still be too much for manly, macho man-men who don’t even always bathe at all because « it’s gay, » but for men who aren’t neurotically insecure and emotionally forever twelve years old, it’s perfectly fine. The dark colours of the Eden’s Pearl scent dispenser go well with upscale masculine decor, too. This is all in all, despite being expensive for hand soap, definitely an example of « you get what you pay for » It gets you good and clean, it has a decadent perfume, and is overall a nice way to work a bit of luxury into your everyday life, which many of us need that right now. This smells great. At first, I wasn't impressed. I thought it was kind of a cheap scent. But the more I used it, the better it started to smell. I am a Mrs Meyers Mum scent diehard and I actually find myself opting for this soap more often. My only gripe is that while the bottle looks nice from afar, it's clearly plastic and a little jankier up close. I wish the bottle were glass, but I understand why it's not for the price. Read more

I was looking for something glamorous for my guest bath. This bottle is nice enough, but it's just plastic. I can detect no fragrance whatsoever. The soap does not foam or lather. As far as the soap itself, I might as well have gotten liquid soap from the dollar store. It's definitely not worth the price I paid. Read more

I love that it's cruelty-free and that it has a gold pump. The bottle and pump are plastic (even though the pump looks metallic), but they're pretty and look relatively high end. That's all good, which is why I really hate to write a mixed review. But... Scent perception is very subjective, but to me this has a very grocery-store-bar-soap-meets-grandmothers-house type of vibe. I can't tell you which bar soap because I haven't used them in a very long time, but I'm guessing it's Dove/Ivory somewhere in that zone. I dislike the smell so much that I washed my hands again with another soap afterwards just to get the residual smell off... and that didn't work. So I'm now typing this with oddly-scented hands hoping that it wears off soon. I will be donating it to my local shelter. I really hate to leave a negative review but part of the reason I purchased it is because so many people here said that it smelled great. I was hoping for a more high-end scent, but to me it smells more like the type of bar soap you'd buy in a grocery store. I hope that my honest review helps someone else (maybe you're looking for a bar soap grandma scent? In which case, go for it!). Read more
