The *ping* sound is as good as the videos make it out to be. Brilliant metallic shine with no scuffs from delivery and has a hefty weight for it's size in the hand. Love this lighter and will use it until it disintegrates and would get it again. Definitely a great gift idea too for cigar smokers. Read more
Extremely luxury lighter. Very robust, heavy, keeps fuel sealed well, feels good in the hand, and super easy to maintain. The flame is a good deal shorter than a Z, but its much more steady a burn and the side flick is so much more satisfying. Package comes with quite a lot to keep it running, including a ton of extra wick. Has replaced my trusty old Z lighter as my daily driver. Read more
I may not know much about lighters but thing thing is built like a machine. lol. Growing up in the 80s my grandparents smoked and a lot of them had old lighter and some of them had old school pocket lighter but, I certainly don’t remember any of them being this sturdy or this heavy. Given that I grew up around smokers I certainly don’t smoke but, I will certainly purchase a lighter worth collecting if I see one. This was the one. It turned out to be well worth every penny. Every thing about it was spot on, weight, color, size, and even the wick was impressive. I even liked that it ran on kerosene instead of butane. It seemed to make it function better than the usual flint lighters. I would definitely purchase another next time Im looking. Price may be a little more than one would like but, in some cases you get what you pay for and this is one of those cases. Read more
Really as the title says, the quality on this is INSANE. It looks so amazing and has gotten multiple compliments. Not only does the flip and latch mechanism offer wind resistance and overall functionality but it has been a surprisingly fun fidget as well. It makes a loud audible and weighty cling sound that I find myself just sitting at my desk and flipping it even when not using as a lighter. I do think the value of this for how much it costs might be a little steep, but it's definitely very well built. It's a lighter at the end of the day and it's easy to use once you get a hang of the sideways motion for flicking the lighter mechanism. Read more
This lighter would make a great gift. It comes beautifully presented in a felt lined box, and with the lighter itself in a draw string bag. It comes with spare flints and wick. You do need to add your own kerosene, but it comes with everything else you need. The lighter itself feels very luxurious, and has some weight to it. It is satisfying to open, and the side slide ignition was smooth and easy to operate. It sparks easily, without having to struggle with it. The design on the lighter is crisp and clear. The whole thing just looks and feels high end. I’m so impressed with the quality of this lighter. Read more
Appears to be a genuine thorens lighter. Though one can get it much cheaper from thorens themselves rather than amazon Read more
This lighter is like a work of art. It is beautiful and well made. The star patterns on the case are clear and perfectly made. I like to collect small mechanical items particularly ones that are well made. When I saw this I knew that i needed to get it. It came very well presented in a well made box with a drawer like opening. The directions it comes with are some of the best that i have seen for mechanical items. The directions are clear on using and maininting this lighter, as well as a blown up parts view showing every part and how they fit together. There are extra flints, extr wick and a nice carrying bag. I will confess that I am not sure what kerosene to put in the lighter. Although, I do not know if I will use it as a lighter as much as I will keep and display it as a piece of art. This is a beautiful and appears to be well made and I am glad that I got it. Read more
This lighter is heavy and has an extremely high level of quality ,old world craftsmqanship. I gave it to my guy as a gift, but it does have one serious drawback and that is it uses only kerosene which is hard to come by and very difficult to dispense into the lighter unless you have the proper equipment like a long glass eyedropper and/or a very small metal fuunel l(like those used for perfumes. Of couse you can buy this equipment on Amazon, but it would have been nice to have this knowledge in advance so I could have purchased and gifted the lighter and the fill-up equipment all at once.
