I love using the MAEDA-EN Shiki Matcha Green Tea Powder for my lattes and smoothies! It has a rich, slightly astringent flavor that blends well into drinks and desserts. The resealable can is convenient for storage, and the bright green color adds a beautiful touch to everything I make. It’s a great choice for matcha lovers, especially with its easy preparation. I've tried a coupe of other brands of ceremonial matcha. The product I ordered here is "Universal quality". This matcha was sealed in a bag that appears to be mylar, within a can. I heated some water to 176F, poured it into a mactcha bowl over 1/2 tsp of matcha. I whisked this until frothy, and poured it into a cup. This matcha tasks like other matchas. As is frquently the case, quite a bit of the powder was left in the cup after I finished the drink. Mixing the macha into another concoction may improve this. Read more
This MAEDA-EN Shiki Matcha Green Tea Powder is 28 g (a small cannister) of strong green tea powder. It comes sealed in a bag in a sealed tin, so freshness has been preserved. I used my usual amount of 1 teaspoon for a big matcha latte (at least 12 oz of milk, probably more) and this stuff is STRONG, with a very heavy grassy/matcha taste. Note that the instructions say to use 1/2 tsp of matcha per 4 fl oz of water, so I've already diluted it well beyond their recommendation. It's bright green and very finely powdered. I think this would be good for baking (though the quantity is quite small) as the taste would shine though and good for drinks in slightly lower-than-usual proportions. Product of Japan. Read more
This is the cutest tiny can of matcha powder....but it is tiny. Flavor is good and it dissolves well, you just don't get very much. Read more

This is the first time I have purchased matcha powder to try, so I do not have a comparison. However, I found it quite earthy, not bitter at all. It reminded me a little of nori. A little bit of the powder goes a long way, so I would use sparingly and add a bit at a time to taste. I first tried it more traditionally without milk. Then I added a little milk about half way through the cup. That was also quite good and does mellow the flavor a bit. Read more

I love this matcha green tea powder. It's quite strong, but it is actually the first product that got me into whisking my first matcha drink. Generally, I'd go to a local coffee shop to get my matcha fix in; however, with MAEDA-EN Shiki Matcha Green Tea Powder, I'm able to make a nice matcha green tea drink in the comfort of my home. Matcha and Oatmilk is my favorite combination since I am unable to drink milk due to being lactose intolerant! Read more
I really do like this matcha. Compared to others I have purchased in the past, I can say that it has a very smooth profile with none of the graininess I have encountered in other products. The resulting tea is a very nice, deep green and not muddy like others can be. The flavor is what you would expect from a good matcha so it's easy to adjust it to your needs should you want it light or strong in flavor. Overall, I would definitely recommend this. Read more
