Really impressed with this Maelstrom backpack. It holds a surprising amount—clothes, toiletries, a 17" laptop, and even shoes in the separate bottom compartment. The layout is thoughtful, the material feels durable, and it fits perfectly as a carry-on. The detachable crossbody pouch is a nice bonus for quick access items. Overall, lightweight, roomy, and super practical for weekend trips or daily use. Would definitely buy again. Read more

I bought this backpack specifically for travel, and it’s exceeded all my expectations. I don’t carry a laptop, so I use the extra space in the padded compartment for documents, snacks, or even a light jacket—it’s super versatile. Here’s what I love most: - Spacious and well-organized—perfect for weekend trips or carry-on travel. - Waterproof material keeps everything dry, even in unpredictable weather. - Separate shoe compartment is ideal for keeping things clean and organized. - Detachable crossbody bag is a brilliant bonus for sightseeing or quick errands. - Airline-friendly size fits easily in overhead bins and under seats. The backpack feels durable, the zippers are smooth, and the straps are comfortable even when fully packed. It’s stylish, functional, and makes travel so much easier. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable travel backpack. Read more

I bought this backpack a few weeks ago and it has pleasantly surprised me. The material feels durable, the stitching is well done, and it holds up nicely with daily use. The internal space is great for carrying everyday items, books, a water bottle, wallet , without losing shape or becoming uncomfortable. The design is simple and functional, perfect for work, college, or short trips. It’s not perfect, some seams could be reinforced a bit more, and the internal compartment isn’t huge, but for the price I paid, it offers excellent value. That’s why, despite these small details, I’m giving it 5 stars. I recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and practical backpack for daily use. Read more

This is a big, sturdy bag -- it's not some little thing that will crumple away in a corner. The bag by itself weighs a fair bit; it's got padding in multiple areas, there's some 3D cushioning on the back for a bit of breathability, and the base material is thick. So it's substantial. The zippers are all nice, too; they're a clear upgrade from standard zipper pulls and they give a classy touch to it, if you set aside the standard black plastic buckles. It's also not a simple bag. There are zippers in some unexpected places which open up new dimensions of storage, to the point that (unlike a lot of bags in this size class) I think you could actually get some use out of the compression straps to manage and compress the stuff you put in it. It's billed both as a travel backpack and as a laptop backpack. It's clearly really intended as a travel bag into which, yes, you can also put a laptop, but that's not its reason for being. My read is that this is a sort of one-bag solution for a short trip, or I guess longer if that's your approach. It has bottom-loading, separated storage which I think is ideal for shoes. It's got three separate layers of vertical storage, not counting that shoe storage, which you can use to separate your various clothing/technology/toiletry needs. There's a separate compression strap in one of the compartments, too, to help compress and hold clothes in place. The mesh and drybag (really just a separated plastic storage area; I think it would work fine for damp things but maybe not something soaking wet) seem useful, too. I'm a bit less sure about the detachable bag, primarily because I don't think it's something I'll use. It's well made and decently solid in its own right, though, and for someone else, it might be a great addition to streamline your packing. Overall, It's going to get some good use from me on overnight trips and that kind of thing. It's capacious and flexible enough that I can use this instead of having to deal with some kind of rolling bag or duffel. Should be nice and durable, too. Read more

This backpack was near perfect for my daughter during our international trip. She was able to pack everything she needed for an 8-day trip inside of this backpack (as her personal item) and a carry-on suitcase, with room to spare in the backpack. She was able to carry her 1-quart bag of liquid toiletries, her allergy medications, electronics (phone, iPad, headphones, etc), a pair of shoes, snacks, blanket and Ottawa water bottle and she still had room to spare that was used to carry her purchases made during our trip. The only negative was that the wrong strap was included for the front pouch/crossbody bag. So she was not able to use it on the trip and had no other bag for her daily activities during the trip. She had to ask someone else to carry her money, passport, etc until she could buy an appropriate bag. So make sure to check ALL of the buckles and snaps BEFORE you need the bag to ensure the right items are included. Otherwise, it is a great purchase for carry-on only travelers or anyone needing a travel backpack for short trips. Read more

I’m SO happy I bought this backpack! The quality feels premium and the design is incredibly smart. It has tons of pockets, everything stays organized, and it fits way more than I expected. The laptop compartment is well-padded, the zippers are smooth, and the material feels durable The detachable crossbody bag is such a bonus — I use it when I don’t want to carry the full backpack. And the shoe compartment is a game changer for travel, gym, or even packing kids’ stuff. It’s comfortable to wear, looks sleek, and feels like something way more expensive. Overall, this bag checks every box for travel, work, or everyday use. Highly recommend! Read more
