Customers find the slow cooker large enough to make family meals and huge pots of stew and chili, with a metal insert that's not heavy and easy to clean.

Our older 7-quart crockpot just didn't have the capacity for some stews - we kept getting perilously close to the top! This slow cooker with its 10-quart capacity solves that with 1.5"-2" to spare. Additionally, the removable inner pot is very lightweight relative to common ceramic pots, and that makes handling it MUCH easier. The inner non-stick surface is easily cleaned by hand in a couple of minutes. Best, the full metal pot can be moved to the sink (note 8-quarts of stew weigh about 16 lbs) and surrounded by cold water which quickly cools the stew or soup - much faster than first filling plastic containers. When the first batch of cooling water gets warm, just transfer the pot to the other side of the sink (or countertop) and let the warm water drain away, then fill the sink again with cold water. Repeat as needed. We can cool 8-quarts of hot stew to about room temperature in 40 minutes, ready to transfer to refrigerator or freezer containers. We have made two batches of stew so far and I am exceptionally pleased with this slow cooker. I like having an LED 'ON' light, too - most crockpots don't have one. FYI, I measured the power consumption as: Warm 18W, Low 180W, High 270W. We mostly use Low overnight. The outside surface of the slow cooker does get uncomfortably HOT and this is the only minor negative - I wish they would add more insulation and/or a double-wall air gap to keep the outside cool. A very good and large slow cooker just what I was looking for Read more
This is a big pot but well worth the money if you have a big family or entertain a lot. I love the fact the center is not glass. You can brown your meat on the stove in it and then put it i the crockpot and continue to cook your food. It's also so easy to clean. Read more
Very excellent crockpot worked well on my 12lb ham first time I was able to put the cover on was worth every penny I love how deep it is Read more
I love the capacity of this crock pot. I do all the cooking in our household, and the roasts I have been purchasing lately, are larger than usual. Our old one went kaput, and our son bought the next size smaller than this one and said it was barely large enough to fit their roasts in. This one is perfect for larger roasts. Now, when I make Zuppa Toscana, the pot almost seems empty! Since everyone loves it, I could most likely, easily double the Zuppa recipe in this crock pot! It's very versatile, and says It canalso be used for stovetop searing, although I would never do that because it would most likely shorten the useful life of the pot. Super easy to clean and great temp control as well!! It is larger and deeper than average, so make sure you will have a place large enough to store it. Read more
