In a small room or bedroom, this humidifier works quite well. Running it at or very near to its highest output make a measurable increase in room humidity over the course of 8-hours (which is about the full capacity before needing to refill). My room was getting very dry, about 30% humidity, and running this humidifier with the door closed raised the humidity to 38% in 8 hours (roughly 1% per hour). Running it continuously, refillin every 8 hours, brought the humidity to close to 50% by the next day. It's not a big deal for me to refill it but if that's something you don't want to worry about, I'd suggest a larger capacity humidifier. It seems durable and well made overall and operates fairly quietly, no louder than a white noise machine on a very low setting. Overall, I like this humidifier because it's quiet and works well, and is a good value. Pros: Very quiet; runs almost 24 hours on the lowest setting Cons: There's no way to refill it without water leaking everywhere; the white light is blinding in a dark room; hard to clean; can't use essential oils. The first time I tried to refill this I removed the cannister and water leaked all over the table and floor. The next time I carefully removed the cannister and turned it upside down before moving it, and the same thing happened. Now I come armed with a few towels to catch the leakage. I've only refilled it when the red light, meaning it is out of water, was on for at least an hour. I find it hard to clean, as well. For now I spritz a little vinegar into it, add water, and slosh it around a bit. I'm not sure it it's doing the job. The instructions are very vague. Read more

This humidifier is simple and does exactly what it needs to do. It doesn't have any fancy features or bells and whistles, just a single reservoir and a single rotating knob to set the humidity level. I've only had it about a week, but I've been using it consistently every night (one full reservoir lasts 2 nights at the med-low setting I use) and it's helped a lot with my nose and throat in the morning when having the heat on all night. I no longer wake up with a dry, sore nose. This is the first humidifier I've ever used, so I can't compare it to others. It does make a noticeable noise level, but it's steady and low, so I think it wouldn't bother most people as it basically doubles as a white noise machine. However, if you're extremely sensitive to noise at night, this might be distracting. Then again, probably any humidifier would be. My only complaint is a small nitpick- the light above the knob is a very bright pale white. I'm super sensitive to light at night. I put a couple of small pieces of duct tape over it and it works to dim the light level just fine. It doesn't look amazing, but it works just fine, and I have the humidifier tucked in next to a houseplant anyways, so it's not noticeable. Overall, a great product so far! Read more

Well, it works, which is really what I needed. And it’s pretty quiet. The little LED light above the dial is bright enough that you could signal passing satellites with it, which is kind of a downside for a bedroom unit. Covering it with a foil sticker and three layers of painters tape dims it to a more normal level (although you can easily still see it). Also this unit isn’t exactly a picnic to clean, although I gather that’s fairly standard for humidifiers (why no humidifiers have a way to open up so you can scrub out the water tank I have no idea, this seems like a pretty basic design flaw). I clean mine with strong vinegar water and a clean rag and just shake the water tank hard for like, twenty minutes to half an hour with the rag inside the tank to “scrub” the walls. It’s a complete pain but it seems to work ok. Used to use hot water as well for cleaning, but since the manufacturer hasn’t verified that this is BPA free I stopped doing that. End result, yes, it certainly humidifies the air effectively and quietly. But if you run it frequently though, you’re either going to inadvertently aeresolize bacteria or just spend a ton of your time cleaning the dang thing. Possibly both. I only run mine intermittently because of this. Why is it that devices designed to help you breathe easier aren’t easier to disinfect? People with breathing problems shouldn’t have to run the risk of making themselves sick with bacteria just so they can humidify the air. There’s gotta be a better way. Read more

The first product was not without its problems. I had an issue where the auto-shutoff feature would falsely engage causing the unit to stop working, even with a full tank. The company assured me this was a problem which was caused by shipping, and not a normal issue they see with the product. They provided for a replacement which so far has not exhibited the same issue. I'm impressed with this level of service. You can imagine how frustrating it is to have a product that doesn't do what it's supposed to, and they responded to that frustration adequately to make sure that I had a working product quickly. As for the product itself, I chose it because it's a good mix of form, function, and price. The black tinted tank, and black design makes it sleek and hide away in the room which is exactly what I wanted. You can get about 24 hours of humidity on a single tank load, depending on how high you run the fan. If you use this as a bed side humidifier, you can blast this at 100% and expect to have extra water left over in the morning. That's ideal! It's simple, looks good, and after the first hiccup caused by shipping damage, it works as it should. You can rest assured that you will be satisfied with Magitec.
