I initially gave this lame a 3 because I didn’t watch the video to see how it properly went together and how you can just loosen the nut to turn it in to store and easily loosen the nut to turn it out to score your bread. So now I can adjust it easily and because it also has a magnet that I missed the first time I used it I can just hang it on my fridge for easy access. I love it! This bread lame arrived quickly and looked great right out of the box. The wooden handle feels solid and comfortable to hold, and I really like the magnetic design that keeps the blade secure when in use. It definitely makes scoring dough easier and helps create nice patterns on homemade sourdough loaves. One thing to note is that the blades are quite thin and can bend if you press too hard. Because of this, it sometimes takes a second pass to get a deep, clean cut in the dough. Also, you need to be careful when changing blades, as they are very sharp and it’s easy to nick a finger if you’re not paying attention. I was really looking for a bread lame that retracted into itself without having to take the blade off. So many other lames you have to remove the blade completely to store. This lame really met that need for me. I like how it turns into itself and none of the blade is exposed. The wooden handle meets the aesthetic desire of a bread lame as well. It's small but yet very functional. I don't feel like it is going to slip out of my hands when I use it. The blade is very sharp and it comes with some back-ups which I really appreciate. Read more

I like the idea of this but it did not score my bread very well. I prefer the longer handle options, it allows for better cuts at better angles. This one is short and wide so even when I rotated the blade so that I could get a more horizontal angle, it didn’t score well. Made well & compact, I just prefer other options. Read more
