They are very lightweight, but have been keeping my legs from freezing in below freezing temps here in Texas. The price seems a bit high though and I hate hand wash only. I'll start with the only problem I have with these pants. Leg length. Overall they look fine. I'm size 32 in all my pants, and always end up happy with my pants purchases. These run long. As for this pair, they feel great after an entire day of wearing them thanks to the elastic waist, and the 100% cotton no doubt aids in it's lightweight feel and comfortability. Unfortunately, I find myself constantly pulling the legs up from beneath my feet to prevent them from rubbing against the bottom of my shoes. This affects the overall fitment, and in no way do the pants fit anywhere near what is represented in the ad, where photos show the hem stopping at the ankles. If you like the baggier look around the feet, then I would say go for it. These are great for casual outings, and the material quality and style make this a good value otherwise. I got these Linen Beach Pants for my husband because I thought they looked really nice. I got them in my husband's usual size, and they fit him well (he likes his clothes a little tighter). They're soft, and the material feels nice. I don't think they would be appropriate for work or an event, unless it was at a beach.
