Stable, High Quality, and Lightweight Mini Tripod with Adjustability and Sturdiness

Eddie | NYC Content CreatorDecember 27, 2022

One of the standout features of this tripod is its stability. Despite its small size, it is able to hold my compact system camera steady and keep it in place, even when taking shots in windy or unsteady conditions. This has been a major plus, as I often find myself shooting in outdoor environments where stability is key. In terms of quality, the Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod is top-notch. It is made in Italy with a combination of technopolymer and aluminium, and the materials and construction are top-notch. It feels sturdy and well-made, and I have confidence that it will hold up well over time. Another aspect of the Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod that I really appreciate is its light weight. It weighs just over a pound, which makes it easy to carry around with me wherever I go. This has been particularly helpful when traveling, as I don't have to worry about lugging a heavy tripod around with me. The Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod is also very adjustable, which has been a great feature for getting the perfect shot. The tripod has three legs that can be positioned independently, and the ball head allows for easy adjustment of the camera angle. This has made it easy to get the shot I want, no matter where I'm shooting. Read more

Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod: The Mighty Mini of the Camera World

Digital DonkeyJanuary 16, 2024

Enter the Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod, a tiny titan in the realm of camera support. This isn't just a tripod; it's a pocket-sized Hercules, ready to elevate your photography game literally and figuratively. Crafted with the finesse of a master jeweler, the PIXI exudes quality that belies its diminutive size. Its legs, sturdy as the pillars of Olympus, provide a stable base for your photographic endeavors, whether you're capturing the urban wilderness or the actual wilderness. The design is so sleek, it could probably win a beauty contest against other tripods. But it's not just a pretty face. The PIXI is as functional as it is beautiful, with a ball head mechanism that's smoother than a jazz tune on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Adjusting your camera angle becomes an exercise in elegance. And let's talk about portability. This mini tripod is so compact, it could fit in your coat pocket, ready to be whipped out faster than a magician's rabbit. It's the ideal companion for the mobile photographer, the vlogger on the go, or anyone who values the mantra 'travel light, shoot right'. The PIXI isn't just about holding cameras, though. It's a statement. It declares that you're serious about your photography, but you also know life's too short for heavy, cumbersome gear. TL;DR: The Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod is a marvel of miniaturization, blending impeccable design with robust functionality. It's perfect for photographers and videographers who understand that the best tripod is the one you actually bring with you – and with the PIXI, you'll never want to leave it behind. Read more

Made of Plastic, not Aluminium, but gets the job done.

Midori AoiAugust 26, 2025

I bought this tripod specifically because it was billed as being made of aluminium, but it is quite clearly plastic. If any part of this is aluminium, then maybe the ball of the ball head, which includes the photographic standard 1/4"-20 tpi threaded stud for mounting a camera or other equipment is, but certainly not any of the rest. That's a little disappointing, and cause enough to take a star off my review. If it were made of aluminium, then it would get a full 5 stars, for what it is. Obviously, there are sturdier tripods on the market, for a lot more money, size, and weight. That being said, I bought this tripod to hold a field recorder on a tabletop when making remote recordings and using it as a headphone amplifier for practicing with my musical instruments on the road. Having a tabletop tripod is important so that the microphones can be angled correctly and so that it will have a stable base for plugging in cables to external sources and headphones for monitoring, and it seems to be strong enough to do the job. The weight and size is good for portability and travel. Attaching the field recorder (or a camera) to the tripod is a little fiddly, because there's no detente on the ball head at top dead center, and no separate way to twist the threaded stud into the fitting. I can easily angle the recorder up to about 40° tilt in either direction, which is generally enough for tabletop use, and it's a simple enough matter to grasp one leg of the tripod with my left hand while pushing the button with my left thumb to release the ball head, so that I can position the recorder with my right hand. The PIXI is the right height to allow standard XLR or 1/4" phone jack cables to be plugged into my field recorder without fouling them on the table surface, as I would do when recording from external sources. and the base seems wide enough to be stable with that amount of weight pulling on the recorder. For those who haven't been professional photographers or audio engineers in their lives, Manfrotto is one of the most respected names in photographic accessories, and I have owned and used their products for decades without failure. This is a company that professionals trust, which is another reason why I chose this model. Read more
